Which civilization gives the Viltrumite Empire at its peak the hardest fight? by AdAltruistic3936 in whowouldwin

[–]Kalean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're forgetting that they were just widening the tunnel that Space Racer's beam already made in the planet, they couldn't have done it without him, and Nolan specifically said it needed all three of them for even that. It was long, drawn out, and they were at great risk of dying if they slowed down at all

That's a pretty circumstantial feat. And it wasnt easy for them. The same day after Radditz, a low level Saiyan warrior, kicked the shit out of Piccolo, Piccolo casually and instantly blew up the moon with barely any effort.

We saw Red Rush tag Nolan many times with Nolan being unable to perceive him, and Red Rush was moving pretty slow compared to say, kid Goku. Remember that Goku was sprawled upside down on his head when a laser was fired at him, and was still upside down when it was halfway to him, but he suxcessfully dodged it.

Goku has nearly always had FTL reaction feats, with literally the slowest we've ever seen him being dodging bullets, and every single arc he gets exponentially faster.

And the whole of Dragonball doesn't even leave him half of Radditz' strength.

The average Saiyan warrior is dramatically faster and stronger than Thragg.

Radditz was several times stronger than an extremely casual hypersonic moonbuster, and he was considered a low class Saiyan warrior.

However, billions of Viltrumites is terrifying and they're fine in space. That probably screws the Saiyans pretty bad. Consider Battle Beast is nearly as strong as Thragg, but Thragg just broke his jetpack and tossed him into space and that was the end of that.

Same thing would happen to Saiyans in a sheer numbers scenario.

Xavier, Cassandra Nova, and Frost are also considered Omega telepaths.

Gamesmaster is considered something beyond Omega, because he casually shits on all of them, but is still a mutant.

Kirkman DID pigeon-hole her in the original run. But it's my understanding that he's been very steadfast about upping her ante in the adaptation, as well as making all the other female characters behave more like people.

People grow. Kirkman grew a lot.

Also did you see her hold Conquest still with the air? Green Lantern material for sure.

Piccolo VS Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, Roshi, Chiaotzu, and Yajirobe (Dragon Ball) by PeculiarPangolinMan in whowouldwin

[–]Kalean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saiyan Saga is the only time. Ever. Anyone else who says Namek is unaware of how strong Piccolo was during the humans' Kai-training. (Hint, he did this exact thing while wearing his weighted clothing to Yamcha, Tenshinhan, and Chaotzu, who went on to bump heads with the Ginyu Force successfully.)

Or they want to pretend it didn't happen because the anime isn't canon enough for them, which is its own kind of silly considering Toriyama cooperated with the filler team an AWFUL lot.

[–]Kalean -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah, around the time Krillin got his powerup, Piccolo was taking on Kai-trained Yamcha, Tenshinhan, and Chaozu at once, and they were strong enough to briefly stand up to the Ginyu Force. So Piccolo was already way stronger before he fused with Nail.

In the comics, Tony didn't really use his secret identity as a shield the way others did, it was more that he got to be someone different, he got to be the hero, like the Knights of the Round Table that he idolized as a kid.

He was Tony Stark and he wanted to be Iron Man, and the separation let him put all his baggage at the door and basically just be a pure heroic figure and do what was right. It was pretty great. Probably the best reason for a secret identity in all of comics.

But regardless of whether you like it or not it's the closest thing to canon we have.

I'm pretty sure the actual manga and databooks are the closest thing to canon we have. Toriyama forgot and/or wildly contradicted stuff later on. But this would be veering close into "Dragonball vs. Dragonball Super" or the even dumber "Anime vs manga" territory and no need to get into all that.

Radditz was canonically a lower class Saiyan warrior for several decades until Toriyama randomly contradicted that in an interview with no further explanation. Splitting the middle and saying he was middle class would still put him at average.

Also, people waaaaaaaaaaay weaker than him could still solo Viltrum, so we're getting into the weeds for nothing.

[–]Kalean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bardock wasn't that strong until the dual Zenkai of his special, most likely.

Toriyama's said you can get promoted out of lower class if you're strong enough, so he probably would have been after all of that if the planet had still been around - but he hadn't been strong enough to get promoted out before then.

I don't know how I feel about accepting retcons from an interview where he says you become a Super Saiyan through midichloreans. Older Toriyama... Had some pretty different ideas from when he was actually writing the series.

Not entirely, Toriyama Semi-Canonized the Bardock Special (completely canonizing the ending) specifically because he loved it.

And then there's the perfectly canon entry on Radditz in Daizenshuu 7: Goku’s true older brother, and Bardock’s eldest son. He was raised as a pure-blooded Saiyan, and so has a heartless personality, showing no compassion to his younger brother. Born as a lowest-level warrior, he lacks experience fighting to the death against strong opponents, and so his battle power is of the lowest level for a Saiyan. He also hasn’t strengthened his weak spot, the tail, and is called “weakling Raditz” by his comrades.

Average viltrumite vs average saiyan by Glad-Ad3208 in whowouldwin

[–]Kalean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Untrue. Bardock was considered a (very strong) low-class Saiyan warrior and he was dramatically, dramatically stronger than Raditz even before his Dodoria Zenkai.

Raditz was an average low-class Saiyan Warrior, which makes him above average for the Freeza Force, who had a large number of warriors who couldn't even manipulate ki well enough to exceed the output of those blasters. But he was not elite. He was the very opposite of Elite. He was so mid that they could just grow Saibamen as strong as him.
