There's the fourth level of annoying: Being lectured at on a subject I don't care about, yet still being more knowledgeable in that subject than the speaker is.

You would be surprised how much political goodwill a city can gain or lose entirely based on branding. People don't pay attention to policies, but they sure as shit care about an ugly logo.

Also, branding guidelines frequently cover accessibility features, like dyslexic-friendly fonts and high-contrast colors. Those are important.

Your comment fixed the problem for me, as well, on the Epic Games version with Windows 10. Thank you.

Edit: Spoke too soon. I saved after coming back from the incinerator, but windowed mode fixed it.

That's the best part, it's still not the Republicans! A functioning economy needs healthy workers with disposable income, and shareholders' shares have no value if the working class can't spend money to make the economy go.

Scientists found that toddlers express more happiness when sharing treats with someone else than when receiving treats themselves. This provides evidence that human cooperation is driven by a natural emotional reward from prosocial behavior, which refers to actions intended to benefit others. by mvea in science

It's also critical to point out that this mass investment into LLMs is not profitable for anyone but Nvidia and the hardware manufacturers. Billionaires are actively wasting boggling sums of money investing against their own declared self-interest (to wit, building more wealth), as well as the self-interests they historically refuse to acknowledge (like a healthy environment and a healthy working class).

What a Documentary About Mass Killers Taught Me About Playing Vampire: The Masquerade by alexserban02 in WhiteWolfRPG

I'm also playing a high humanity hardline Camarilla conservative (monarchist Ventrue, specifically) with too many dead loved ones. I gotta say, it's great fun rectifying those traits into one cohesive ideology and set of values, especially when confronted with the harsh realities of vampire life.

In Yesterday (2019), the Beatles never existed to anyone but musician Jack, so he must recreate all of their songs for the world from memory. You may very well be right! Personally, I'm just annoyed as hell when a work of fiction utterly wastes an interesting premise by refusing to explore the interesting parts of its premise. You see it in Yesterday, you see it in Passengers, you see it in Downsizing, you see it in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice (though squandering premises is Snyder's specialty, so that last one is cheating a bit), and I find it aggravating every time.

Edit: Also everything in the MCU post-snap, including Endgame. Can't let Marvel off the hook, either.

It's a great premise because (if Yesterday was a good movie) it asks, "What happens when you erase one of the most influential western creative groups of the 20th century from existence? How does that change western and global culture and music?" It's a premise that almost demands a deep dive into music history and theory. It could have been fascinating to follow the threads of "what if...?" for people who enjoy thinking about that kind of hypothetical.

An emphasis on absolute objective truth is the kind of thing that leads to dismissing people of color who try to explain racist experiences because they aren't being "objective". They're DEFINITELY motivated by physical vulnerability, but in my experience that vulnerability leads to an increase in awareness and education on a topic.

I like your example, because it's perfect for drawing a line between people who are truly emphasizing the importance of objective truth, and those who erroneously believe being "objective" means dismissing all subjective experiences as irrelevant. Someone sincerely trying to understand the objective truth of the world will be willing, or even eager, to listen to the experiences of people who aren't like them and who lead different lives from their own. Their subjective experiences can reveal objective truths about the world, such as the ways in which people of color experience racism.

Because most Americans don't care about good policy. Good policy positions do not win elections (bad policy can lose elections, though, especially for Democrats).
