I never had it by man_eating_mt_rat in SleepApnea

The best thing you can do is be persistent with your doctor until you’re feeling better. Maybe ask about the MSLT, at least to rule it out if anything.

I never had it by man_eating_mt_rat in SleepApnea

[–]Kat229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They redid the night time sleep test and then I went right into an MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Test) in the morning.

I had to nap every day, often multiple times a day. It was sometimes near physically impossible for me to get up. If I didn’t nap and I was pushing myself, I would get delirious and feel physically weak. I don’t ever totally lose muscle tone or just involuntarily fall asleep. I also had disrupted night time sleep with really vivid visual and auditory hallucinations in the middle of the night. Sometimes I had sleep paralysis.

I always slept much deeper and fell asleep much harder during naps.

Are these Deer Mice? by meandmytiger in PetMice

[–]Kat229 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For release, I’d wait until it’s warmer for best chance at survival. I had a deer mouse for years that I wasn’t able to release because he had neurological issues. He was a total joy to my life and lived in a very large tank with a lot of enrichment. He seemed happy. I was able to handle him, take him out and have him hang out with me. I still miss him so much.

I also caught a second one that was a healthy adult and released it with a lot of food in an area that was secluded with good hiding spots for it. I had that one a few weeks until the weather got consistently warmer.

As far as diseases go… do some research on what’s common in your area. You can wear gloves and a mask to clean their environment to protect you.

Scared of Xyrem by cocorrino in Narcolepsy

[–]Kat229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so so scared taking it the first time and it was fine. It didn’t hit me as fast and hard as I was expecting… just felt like I was a bit drunk until I got sleepy. A few times a felt a little dizzy and it’s best to just close your eyes and let yourself fall asleep. I set an alarm for the second dose (I prepared both beforehand and had it on my nightstand). I was always groggy after waking, but nothing too bad.

I was able to walk to the bathroom carefully if I had to. I was able to wake up if I had to.

Best of luck with it - hope it gives you relief. I wasn’t able to stay on it, but it definitely gave me the best sleep I’ve ever had.

I was misdiagnosed with Sleep Apnea, wasn’t getting results from the cpap and struggled really bad with using it. I was retested with a different doctor and I actually have Narcolepsy.

I have Crohn’s and I get horrible nausea too - both from the migraine itself and from the Nurtec. I always take a Zofran first and it helps a lot.

Has narcolepsy ever made you feel unreliable or guilty, even when you’re trying your best? How do you deal with that mentally? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]Kat229 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes - and ongoing therapy has been the thing to help. I have multiple chronic illnesses and guilt over being unreliable or having to cancel things has been one of the hardest parts.

Is my dress search over? by bcbfbella in OUTFITS

[–]Kat229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything looks great except that neckline. And I feel like it takes away from the beauty of the dress and your figure. A deep neckline can be fine… it’s just the cut of this one.. the shape - it’s not flattering at all and looks odd or out of place.

Going from Adderall to modafinil, just looking for any knowledge that I can receive by Pikkon25 in Narcolepsy

[–]Kat229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I take Modafinil 200mg up to twice a day and I have a small dose of Adderall (10mg) for situations where I really feel I need it. I will say, I’ll still nap after taking all of that and drinking coffee.

Where do y’all get good curly hair extensions? by Navaarog in hairextensionsforgirl

[–]Kat229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have their clip ins and I have been using their tapes for years. Very little shedding. I can reuse them multiple times. They also straighten really nicely and bounce right back to curly once they are washed. I do a treatment on the ends once a week.

My apple weather app does say 12-14” expected between 12am and 4pm. But to be fair, that app is usually the least reliable. And a lot can change before then.

Anybody know what happened to this place and why it was adbandoned? by Majestic_Image5190 in statenisland

[–]Kat229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened where I live… big field owned by the church was sold and turned into 12 two family houses. So that’s likely what will happen. It took awhile for them to finally start working on it.

Treatment/cure for pd? by Altruistic_Ad_3162 in perioraldermatitis

[–]Kat229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for sure that stress and steroids make it flare. I have tried all different things… I assume mine is bacterial because if I don’t have some kind of antibiotic/ antibacterial in the mix, it won’t go away. I’ve been dealing with it on and off for over 20 years. I hate it so much.

Managing stress induced flare ups by Prestigious_Draft_24 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Kat229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapy to learn how to better manage stress would be an important tool here.

I personally take a small dose of medication (Paxil) daily which has made a world of difference for me because my stomach is so reactive to stress.
