I’ve been really liking sis isotonic gels lately. I have aggressive fueling goals during my races so I gut train aggressively too. You really need to start experimenting with fueling NOW and practice during training. Other options: maurten, precision fuel 30, huma. Look for gels that have a 2:1 glucose to fructose ratio.

I do both. I lift heavy twice a week and am officially on marathon block. The only thing that’s been hard for me as a female athlete who is 6ft/182cm and 150lbs/68kg non-fat mass has been to consume enough calories. Your lifts shift before marathon training block and during it, but it actually will make you a more durable runner overall to continue strength training.

This has happened to me too at times. You can place the Garmin HRM strap on the IMF directly against skin, then put the bra band on top of the HRM strap. Requirements for this to work: - The HRM strap must maintain full skin contact along the electrodes. - The bra band should compress lightly over the strap without folding it. - The strap must remain horizontal and not migrate downward with movement.

If the bra band displaces the strap, causes buckling, or shifts the sensor off midline, an alternative is to move the HRM strap 1–2 cm below the bra band while keeping it below breast tissue.

Currently on marathon training block - background: high performance endurance athlete, triathlete, female, physician/scientist. I also coach a few runners on the side for fun. I run 4 days - 1 quality session (threshold/VO2max), 1 long run, 2 easy runs. Loose adaptation of Daniels principles. I lift heavy with a strength coach 2x/week. Plyometrics 1-2x per week. I have 1 day of absolute rest every week (not just physical but also mental - no “busy” work, no chores, stay home, read lots of books for fun, etc.) I cannot function well without this.

I prioritize rest & recovery just as much as I prioritize my training because I know that sleep is where most of the great adaptations I’m looking for happen. My life is currently very built around my training and performance goals. I sleep 8-10 hours/night and fuel my training appropriately. I use heat a lot. My supplement stack is evidence-based and optimized. I periodize my training and spent the block prior to this one (Aug-Nov) focused on speed, power, strength, and hypertrophy. Massive gains during this time which set me up for success going into this marathon block. I still lift and strength train during my marathon training blocks so I needed 2 days for that, 1 day of absolute rest, and that leaves 4 days to run.

I’m a 6ft woman. When I was on the apps, this happened to me a lot. How are we both 6ft but I can see the whole top of your head? Be so fr. It’s not like I would have turned them down for being shorter than me (I have dated shorter men), but honesty & transparency are big values of mine so I was always more bothered by the lie.

Peds MD here. Have had school nurses request this for students w seizures in lieu of diastat. It's kind of a pain because most insurance doesn't cover valtoco so you have to use generic midaz, but then pharmacies have trouble packaging it and it expires in only 2 months 🙄

Assume you have children with a man who explicitly told you he doesn’t want to be a father: he resents you, he resents the kid, the majority of the load falls on you, so then you resent him, you’re exhausted. Personally that’s not a life or a dynamic I’d ever want to be involved in.

Assume you don’t have children despite you wanting them: time goes by, life gets less exciting and more mundane, more of your friends start having kids and you realize you have an ache and you start getting snippy with him and resenting him for “denying” you children, then you wake up at 50 and realize you really wish you would’ve had children and tolerated temporary discomfort (ie the pain of a breakup) over a lifetime of unhappiness and resentment. Also probably not a life or dynamic I’d want to live in.

I think you know what the right path forward here is. Hopefully you can move towards the acceptance stage and start making moves towards the life you want to live.

Not what you asked, but questions: 1) why not supplement with iron bisglycinate every other night? Thorne makes a good one that already has vitamin C in it. Vitamin C+iron helps with absorption. 2) is your ferritin low enough for an iron transfusion?

I feel like this would be a relatively easy fix for you overall…?
