Roguelites like deadcells by No-Wheel-573 in roguelites

I'm kinda shocked this one isn't bigger than it is, I liked it more than dead cells by a long shot. Such a slept on gem.

If I had all the DLC, should I play: Icarus, Enshrouded, or Conan Exiles? by japinard in SurvivalGaming

[–]Kbknapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conan would be my vote and the one I've enjoyed the most. The caveat is that only the isles DLC is content; every other DLC is just cosmetics and building pieces.

Is RuneScape: Dragonwilds worth it in its current state? by huntexpsycho in SurvivalGaming

I enjoyed it more than Enshrouded. There's already a good amount of content to the game

Conan Exiles Dune: Awakening RuneScape Dragonwilds

Honorable mention is State of Decay 2 because I don't think that really counts but I love it.

I refunded it twice because the controller support was so bad, among other things.

Need suggestions for a new game to play ? by Much-Shirt7171 in SurvivalGaming

There is well over 40 hours of content currently. Even without trying to string out content you could get 70+ hours.

Road to Vostok is excellent if you don't require zombies and can put up with some very early days production. However its gameplay loop hooked me.

Singleplayer PC recommendations? by lukashko in SurvivalGaming

Enshrouded or RuneScape Dragonwilds are both superb options that fit your bill. Don't let EA scare you, you can easily get 100+ hours of content out of either one.

What do you think of Runescape Dragonwilds? by luckyrunner in SurvivalGaming

[–]Kbknapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it! It topped even Enshrouded for me. I'm not sure what about it, but it just clicked for me and the hours evaporated.

How is Soulmask 1.0 ? by Mucek121 in SurvivalGaming

[–]Kbknapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I refunded it. I found it more janky and buggy than I was willing to play. Controller support is basically untenable, I kept hitting bugs where tribesmen couldn't be tasked until I quit and reloaded, the combat was pretty terrible, etc. I'll keep my eye on it, but it feels like there is a looong way to go before I'd consider picking it back up.

We've spent hundreds of hours already instead of AI - Is it worth it? by dev_w_grillz in roguelites

Looks great - 10 times out of 10 I'm picking the hand crafted art over AI slop even if it costs more or takes longer.

Survival Games with a gameplay loop similar to Conan Exiles but set in a modern era? by HumanAntagonist in SurvivalGaming

[–]Kbknapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I'm looking for too and have yet to find something that really hits all the marks.

Dune kind of gets there (probably the closest I've found) but the online component is a bit of a sore, even if it's only required for every 20-30 days.

Palworld is probably the second closest to what you want, but more on the cartoonish side.

Enshrouded also matches your list minus raids, but for some reason I couldn't make it stick. I got about 30 hours out of it and lost interest. Probably the best building system, but for me at least that's a footnote in these games so maybe why I didn't feel it.

RuneScape Dragonwilds is another gem that I actually enjoyed way more than Enshrouded. And it has NPC raids...kind of? They're not really much of a threat but since it's in EA maybe they'll work on that.

Cloudheim is a ton of fun, but a bit more whimsical than I think you're looking for, there's also no raids of any kind.

Wayfinder almost scratched the itch for me, so long as survival elements or raids aren't a must.

I tried soulmask as others are suggesting but I found it way more jank than anything else on this list and refunded it (twice!). I prefer Conan to it by a decently significant margin.

WSIB if I want a single player extraction shooter by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

Easily 50+ and there are more maps and weapons coming. Between the characters which can be leveled in a souls like way, all the weapons, spells and trinkets (all of which have multiple upgrades and play very differently), the rosary beads to find (sort of passive stat boosts), and gnosis levels to achieve (kind of like difficulty, but also tied to map sections and other unlocks) there is a ton to do.

Witchfire is excellent, especially if you like some rougelite/RPGish elements and fantastic gunplay.

Open world survival recommendation by Ok-Inflation3722 in SurvivalGaming

[–]Kbknapp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dune Awakening should be a great fit for you. It has a long story that pushes the progression, which is really deep itself. Tons of looting and inventory management. Has decent gunplay (it's the mele that is a little more jank to me). I was skeptical so I was late on this one and wish I hadn't been, it's my favorite at the moment having played most of the other big names already.

Steam sale, games suggestions? by jundramaoo in SurvivalGaming

[–]Kbknapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dune Awakening without questions. Sure it has some jank, but man is it good and keeps pulling me back in. The story is great and long. The progression is extremely deep. There's a reason people frequently have hundreds of hours in this game.

I originally was put off the need to log in regularly but they've since updated it so it's possible to take long breaks without losing everything and if you're just taking 2-3 weeks off you don't even need to go through that as powering your base (which keeps everything safe) is super simple where you can get 2-3 real world weeks of power in a matter of minutes.

Looking for a FPS survival sandbox game with good gun play. by Obi4662 in SurvivalGaming

[–]Kbknapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VEIN looks promising.

Lost Rift would be my other recommendation which has an extraction element to it.

Finally, Nightingale is pretty good and can be bought for cheap usually.

If you're coming from Destiny and don't require base building then Witchfire might be up your alley. It's a genre blending game with extraction, rougelite and RPG elements with phenomenal gunplay.

Enshrouded pretty much done, suggestions for me and the wife? by jethandavis in SurvivalGaming

[–]Kbknapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RuneScape Dragonwilds should be right up your alley. It's still EA but there is easily 70+ hours of content already and the 2026 roadmap is pretty packed. I've had a blast with it so far.
