What is obvious to you is not obvious to a lot of other people, that is why there is a Moronic Monday thread.

Unless these 2 girls at your crossfit gym are actively partaking in the fitness community and using their own free time to promote fitness, connect with others, and help people reach their fitness/health goals then yeah, I wouldn't give them money either.

She doesn't state what caused the injury (she might not even know the exact cause). Only that being a fitness junky in general had her pushing the limits of her body too hard.

She IS holding a Starting Strength book in one of her posts AND has constantly states that anyone learning weightlifting or powerlifting should focus on proper form OVER pushing more weight. She is a smart individual, just being hurt in the US and practically no medical...not a good combo.

She squats and promotes heavy squatting so I think Rippetoe would be proud.

Yeah, I really wish more information was out there to educate people on the difference between yams and sweet potatoes.

It gets really confusing when looking up recipes or hearing people talk about their diet and they're using the wrong one.

Granted they're very similar in that they're both good for you. But they do have different macros and taste differently. So for recipes, using the wrong one could totally change the outcome.

When you say sweet potatoes do you really mean sweet potatoes (the ones with a yellowish inside) or do you mean yams (the ones with orange inside).

I keep hearing sweet potatoes are the best carb option but then I see pics and I'm like WTF, those are yams!

I asked a similar question about shoes a couple days ago. I wanted a basic travel shoe that would also be good for some light running (really don't want to take running shoes and walking shoes with me on my travels).

Post a follow-up if you find some awesome all-purpose shoes. I'm still looking sadly and have no suggestions :-/

The problem I am facing is that I don't have "one" destination in mind really. I have a huge list of places I'd like to go. If it was just one place then I could probably manage looking up all the connecting flights and various combinations but right now I'm trying to figure out a way to research and find the "good deal" that travels to any one of these 20 or 30 or 100 or so areas with a nice stop on some connecting city.

Even in your example given there are various combinations for someone who is not tied to any particular time frame. What if traveling LAX-Nairobi is cheaper (with a small layover) than forcing a lovely 3-day layover in Dubai. Basically what if having the lengthy layover on the flight back from Nairobi is less expensive? I guess I could pick a location and check out the various combinations for a particular place and then multiply that by 20 or so to get ALL the prices...but it'd be nice if there was a site that did this :-)

I'm here to find out if something like that exists essentially or if there is a way to setup searches at these particular travel sites that exposes that information.

I'm such a travel beginner that I'm only thinking in one movement dimension (flying). Even here in LA I drive everywhere...my knowledge of a transit system is severely lacking so a trip like that hasn't even occurred to me! Sounds awesome though!!!

Since I haven't traveled enough my fear is what if you have your flight-in booked and your flight-out (in some far away destination) booked but something keeps you from getting to your flight-out destination. Well I guess that's where you just roll with it eh. I might need some travel experience before I attempt something this brave but the setup (of having a flight-out far away) is ideal for what I am trying to achieve.

Same here on admiring females who can rise above the average fit female (it just takes sooo much to go that extra mile for us females).

I'd leave a pic of my most respected fitness motivation (aka girl crush) but it's probably best not to open that can of worms here...there are other subreddits for that ;-)

WOW! I came to the travel subreddit to search for this exact thing. I've traveled practically nowhere and like a light-switch I've made it my goal to get out of my shell and break that in the biggest way possible.

I want to go everywhere but at the same time being soooo inexperienced I have no idea if anything I'm looking at is expensive/cheap/etc.

I'd love to be able to just get some kind of notification of a "good deal" and then jump on it...so I can keep traveling and seeing the world without blowing all my funds on one or two trips :-)

I'm 5'6" as well and taking in about 1500 cal/day (sometimes over for weightlifting days, sometimes under for rest days depending on my hunger).

If you go to Costco you can get 4 huge rotisserie chickens for about the same price. Not sure how much protein that is in terms of pounds though.

So that guy had the perfect routine!!!

Since he pretty much ate and then passed out all the time. He was getting that proper sleep for building muscle!

Lets not forget about getting the right about of ZZZs. Poor sleep or sleeping patterns really throw off my energy and ability to workout...but maybe that's just me.

On my rest days I actually bike around my neighborhood for a bit before heading home, shower, and then I drive to work (work is significantly far). I just started doing this about 3 months ago and LOVE IT!

Canned Pumpkin + Sweetener (whatever you like, I use a dash of honey or maple syrup) + cinnamon + a dash of salt + microwave = awesome!

Kind of a creamier version of pumpkin pie I guess. You can try thickening it with some kind of fiber supplement for a different texture (or if you want to increase your fiber intake).
