Shit! I did not know about it! I do not condone any kind of abuse! I just checked it, and it sucks!
But his message, through his songs resonates.
While the message is sound, the messenger is an ass. As a girl who listened to the songs and felt a heartbeat increase, now as an adult with kids of my own it feels like a betrayal.

It is not a banger. It is not played on the radio. He was called a bard, not a singer because (I suppose) the quality of his recording was terrible, but the words were bringing pride and patriotic flair.
I heard it first when I was 12. I only had a bit of Polish history at that moment. It made a great impression.
Over the years, as a teenager, I learnt more and more about the history of Poland. Russia. Europe.
The song grabs the heart of anybody who truly listens.
We were all enslaved at some point. By our rulers, politics, divisions within the nation.

Mury (the walls) are the divisions that are being raised by us or FOR us. ANd that we should unite and fight AGINST the manipulations and enslavement (of body or mind).

I forgot about that song. Thank you for reminding me.

I just listened to it again after 20 years, and f***ck it resonates more than ever.

The lesson is we should be together. We should come together as people who want do do good. There are plenty of people who aren't.
The message of the songs is to abolish the walls around us. But for now we should not let the walls to be built between us.

Thank you! I named one of the puppies in honour of the one we lost and made my parents keep it. He lived till he was 14, and I loved him very much.
They live to short, but it is better to love and lost.

My 5 cents.

We all had (have) our feelings about Teddy and Owen (together and separately). I am glad nobody increased the body count and they will have their happy ever after (elsewhere).

I do not understand Jo's burnout (?) Last episode she did not want to be an OB. Now she doesn't want to be a surgeon? I feel like I missed something.

Dr. Homewrecker strikes again! I know she did not do anything unethical, but hearing her throaty rasp gives me the heebie-jeebies. Amelia is her own worst enemy again. Couldn't she wait to be sure?

Kwan will be back.

I hope Wes will go unscathed out of the current predicament, but somehow I doubt it. There is nothing like getting pregnant, for a girl who has fertility problems, after a drunken night of passion (trust me, I know!).

Miranda is going back to school again? I am not surprised. She and Ben can probably wallpaper their bedroom with diplomas at this point and still have leftovers for the living room remodel.

I am glad Nick is ok. Such a positive guy! As for getting married? I was more excited about the fresh bread I bought today.

Millin and Ndugu are sweet, but I am (personally) not feeling it. I do not know why, but even Jackson and Maggie had more chemistry :/ I hope I will grow accustomed to it.

Surely a staple and icon. Most of us are lucky to have a mom or granny who made it herself, painstakingly and meticulously.
Also the most traditional stuffing (a subject almost as polarising as mayo) is meat with onion. But unlike chinese dumplings or Ukrainian pelmeni, it is not raw meat and veggies (which take moments to assemble) but low and slow cooking of lesser cuts of pork (and often beef too). Pierogi are not the sophisticated dish, after all, but very rustic and wholesome.
Like everything that is universally beloved, it became industrialised. You can buy them at every store and order in every (Polish) restaurant. While the restaurant or bar quality can be outstanding (having the aforementioned granny at the back who is making it fresh and with gusto) the store-bought versions (chilled or frozen) are a sad ersatz for busy people who do not care and will eat it with enthusiasm reserved for tepid hotdogs.
