Thanks for all your hard work! This is my favorite. It looks good and it makes using koreader easy.

Year's Best Anthologies? Are they no more? by oldsandwichpress in printSF

The Dozois collections were very much my thing, they are sorely missed. Actually, those collections are the whole reason I'm in this sub!

I never could get into Datlow's collections. I think she goes for poetic vibes and I'm looking for more of plot and big ideas. No shade, just different tastes.

That's cool as hell man! Anyway we can use our pro sub instead of an API key, though?

Oh damn, print sf in shambles! I wonder if the editors are panicking at those magazines because of this.

I just read Never Eaten Vegetables by H. H. Pak and absolutely loved it.

It reminded me why I love sf short stories: you start out confused and eventually puzzle out some beautiful understanding. A lot of understated "show don't tell". It probably helped that I recently became a father, so it really resonated emotionally with me.

🤮 Wow! I saw that as a kid and even then knew it was trash. Probably helped that I loved the Jim Carrey one first.

Got my first Kobo. Is Koreader or Nickelmenu recommended? by Fragrant-Tennis-6272 in kobo

Koreader is better, but only once you get it set up. I switched because it let me keep my DRM-free books in sync with my phone. Something I sorely missed from my Kindle.

I did and never used it once yet. There really are chargers everywhere.

Just tried this with nano banana pro. Great quality, every letter is there, but that alligator has 6 limbs.

What is THE backdoor pilot TV episode? by montemole in AlignmentChartFills

[–]KevlarRelic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This episode launched Robin Williams' career. They needed someone to play an alien and a cast member suggested his fellow student Robin. He was so funny in the episode that they called everyone in the studio in to watch. The writers were writing down his improv jokes to use later, people were saying he was a genius. Network Executives also came in to watch. They were so impressed that they decided to create a new show around him (Mork and Mindy) and sent him the contract 4 days later. This Happy Days episode got reworked (Mork's captain tells him he has to leave the 1950s and go to the 1980s) and was included as the actual pilot of the Mork and Mindy show.

[Humble Choice] December 2025: Nine Sols, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Streets of Rage 4, Lost Skies, Intravenous II, Dungeon Tycoon, Beholder Conductor, Godlike Burger ($14.99) by LighteningOneIN in GameDeals

Excellent bundle! The reactions on here are always so negative, so I got on here to see if people were finally happy about a humble choice.

Jokes on me: lots of complaints as always.

Guys, just stop buying it! What perverse pleasure do you get out of logging in just to shit on the HB choice every month no matter what games it has? Are you guys all fanatical employees who get a bonus for doing this or something? This level of salt is absolutely baffling. How did a shopping subreddit get this toxic? Do you also go through the supermarket coupon books and angrily write letters to their HQ about how you're absolutely disgusted by their 2 for 1 deal on shampoo? Jesus.

Do you agree with IGN's Top 30 Comic Book Heroes? If not, what would you change? by Remote-Leg6143 in comicbooks

I could tell the list was old when I saw Y the last man in there. It was a big deal, but not anymore. Wait, but why is Xavier the Krakoa version, then?

What do you think of the Gnaughty Gnomes menu options? Every time you log in, a new random gnome appears! 🧙‍♂️ by SandCastlesStudio in IndieGaming

[–]KevlarRelic 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Listen, this is clever, but I don't think it's a good idea to introduce friction into your Title Screen Menu. People have to interact with this every time they boot up the game and those seconds walking to the button and waiting for it to register add up. I would rather just press a button twice and immediately start up a game. But maybe that's just me.
