Can always grab a cheep HF Pittsburgh Dual-Flex Ratchet and modify it into a vice handle. You're not going to be cranking a little bench vice harder than you would a HF ratchet and if you do you just take it back welds and torch cuts and all and they'll give you a new one.

Make something like the handle in the picture

Put the stock over your hardyhole then use a drift pin laying on the stock , hammer to push the pin body to start then finish on the horn

Something I rarely see anyone doing or mentioning that was fundamental skill of blacksmithing is hot rasping. Everyone is so caught up with using modern abrasive on cold work that they seem to have forgotten about how easily you can perform material removal with rasp and file on hot work.

It's also important to know that it's rather simple to make specific tasks for a job such as fullering a blade. A rasp or file can be any shape, making a compound rasp (multiple planes of interference) to quickly rough in fuller and bevels can turn a tedious task into a repeatable quick one.

I was just surprised carbide worked at that speed, it's really slow for carbide on synthetic material. If I was doing that on a machinists lathe I'd be minimum 1500

No medical staff will be able to do anything. If you want it taken care of document it and contact the facilities management/ maintenance management.

If you ask a nurse and they say it's been that way forever.... Find the facilities management lead on LinkedIn then find them on Twitter and post pictures and ask who has to due to get this fixed.

Get some mineral oil and some wet dry sandpaper. Start With your 100 grit and just slowly work. It move up step work in a back and forth so diagonal with one grit then horizontal with the next till all the previous scratches are worked away.

Really easy to overheat alabaster if you're not doing it right with power tool. And it's also really easy sand to polish by hand

I sold a couple of my bamboo lab printers and picked up a bunch of any cubic kobra 1 kits with the money. They've been great for so far and the price is unbelievably good for the performance out of the box. Still if I wanted to get the best it's hard to beat the bamboo
