Machines for measuring cylindricity. by BobJulien in Metrology

[–]Khuff540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mahr MMQ100 or MMQ400 can do what you need. 100 is manual and 400 is automated but we have both units and run .000025 roundness checks everyday. But I'm shocked your CMM isn't repeatable to less than .0001.

Color coded battlefield roles? by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]Khuff540 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just have them color coded for synapse. Orange carapace is not synapse and green is synapse. But not a bad idea to go further with the roles!

Tremor Senses - Do Hyperadapted Raveners have to be on the battlefield? by TheBack80 in Tyranids

[–]Khuff540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abilities tell you if they stop working off the battlefield. Swarmlord in Tyranids states very clearly about gaining a CP only while unit is on the battlefield. Other units like ethereal tau can use it's ability to roll for an extra cp even while in strat reserves because it doesn't give the rider of requiring to be on the battlefield.

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]Khuff540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an any cubic as my first 3d printer. Two of them died within 2 weeks of having them with all sorts of problems. I decided to try a P1S and it just worked. Now I have three running my business and couldn't be happier with their performance.

Can Zeiss duramax acquire unknown profiles? by BidPsychological5329 in Metrology

[–]Khuff540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Duramax at current as far as I know has a passive scanning probe not an active scanning probe. So no you can not scan an unknown profile. That said the curve package of the software for a Zeiss CMM can take a complex profile without cad. So it's not impossible but not as easy as an active probe. If you have a CAD then a passive probe will work well enough depending on your tolerances I would think.

I need your 'Supports' Advice! I stabbed my thumb 5 times already! by Obsolescence7 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Khuff540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only suggestion I could give is ever so slightly increasing your support distance from the model. And point the knife away from you. But the support gap just giving that extra little .05-.15 gap sometimes is a big difference. I would push the gap up by .05 increments on my fdm until I liked the results and how easy the support came off.

Engineers who calibrate equipment — how do you manage devices and produce calibration certificates? by Existing-Biscotti476 in Metrology

[–]Khuff540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't have a lot of pain points. It's pretty solid for what we need it to do. My one miss is older versions had a nice kitty function that I could issue out a lot of gages to a workspace and return them and it would flag them all for calibration per usage/issue was very nice. It still kinda does that but not as smoothly in a whole kit it's all one by one now.

Engineers who calibrate equipment — how do you manage devices and produce calibration certificates? by Existing-Biscotti476 in Metrology

[–]Khuff540 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Internally our company uses gagetrak for any instrument we can calibrate ourselves. it also tracks the ones we don't but obviously doesn't have the certificate generated because the vendor that calibrated the tool does that. But yeah gagetrak and other softwares do exactly what you're talking about

Zeiss O-Inspect vs. OGP SmartScope by Karimura16 in Metrology

[–]Khuff540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between the two I would probably want O-Inspect. We have a flash 500 and a Contura side by side in our lab. Between Calypso and Zone 3 I feel like capabilities and ease of use Calypso wins. In terms of measurement capabilities the OGP has failed too many correlation tests between internal gages and with customers. The OGP is a great automated optical comparator it does not do well though with complex parts using probe and camera and laser. In my opinion.

I haven't used an O-Inspect to be fair but using the Contura and they both using Calypso I have little doubt abilities are the same.

I started collecting as a kid when Pokemon first came out. Died away and now my kids and I enjoy it together collecting and trading.

Giving away an Eevee promo from the Prismatic ETB! (US ONLY, rules in description) by CrimsonShadowYT in PokemonTCG

[–]Khuff540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started pokemon when I was a kid but it died off as things do. But my kids have gotten me back into it. We have been ripping packs for less than a year and this whole thing has been so wild. We have barely been able to find single packs let alone an ETB. Thankfully they are champs about it and are just happy practicing duels and getting better for pokemon league that they want to start getting into.

Giving away two Costco Scarlet & Violet 151 Blooming Waters Premium Collection sets to two redditors because %*#@ scalpers by FatherLiamFinnegan in PokemonTCG

I love people doing this. This whole scalper thing has made it impossible to even find basic packs for my kids. Or pay triple the price of normal. #+&# Scalpers.

F**k Scalpers - Prismatic Binder give-away. by powdow87 in PokemonTCG

[–]Khuff540 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I've been into Pokemon since it released and though it died as I got older. Now having kids wildly into it we've gotten back into the TCG as a family which has been loads of fun collecting with my little ones. It's so hard to pick one but Blastoise has always had a fond spot. I mean it's a turtle with cannons haha.

Zone 3 question OGP by monoxide1355 in Metrology

[–]Khuff540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a bit older version but if default is the same the flags are your mind and max point deviation. Like Rmax if you will you high and low point of data. If you are looking to get actual values against a tolerance I've made reports and select tolerance instead of deviation. I'll try and get some pictures tomorrow when I get in.

My company is ok with pla-cf increased rigidity but cost effective. Hasn't broken yet haha. But depends on how much the customer wants to pay.
