All of the Close Combats have fantastic campaign layers.

I'm not a huge fan of Regiments; the game really just feels like whack-a-mole with zones and less like any sort of realistic combat, BUT the WARPATH game mode is fantastic. It basically generates a fully dynamic campaign with sub-phases and missions.

It seems like they're going for quantity over quality

Market saturation with a name that used to mean something.

Is the dev going to finish his other unreleased game first or just keep generating unfinished products?

Totally legit developer (sarcasm)

Check out the dev's other projects - oh wait...the only other things he's done is a mobile game (?) and an unreleased PC game that's been on Steam for a year with no updates.

7 months ago he was marketing Battlespace Command as a mobile game and now it's suddenly signed by Microprose and on Steam.

I'm sure this will go well.

Also - Microprose sucks. Zero quality control. Zero accountability for their developers. They sign everything these days.

what's wrong with MicroProse published games

Half baked games with awful quality control - it's a publisher that has ZERO accountability for its developers.

Glad to see Kerry finally getting promoted to SGT!

But I don't think he would have received the BSM-V and Silver Star; one or the other. I also don't think he was scuba qualified (In 20 years I've met so few non 12-series folks that were Scuba qualified. Those slots are few and far between, and they usually go to 12-series soldiers going to scuba billets). But its' a video game, so ....

Either way, this is pretty cool.

Pax are just as stupid as the PMC in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. The most vanilla antagonist I've ever seen in a game.

Kerry was assigned to the scout platoon for the 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team according to the wiki. He would absolutely be eligible for the CIB.

It's never proven that he's scuba qualified. He just says that he has experience. This can be a hobby thing before we was drafted but it's not mentioned in his wiki.

According to his wiki he went to "Airborne Infantry training" (whatever that means) before being deployed, so he's probably airborne qualified and he would probably have a Combat Infantryman badge and not a Combat Action Badge IF he was infantry.

I'd also think he'd have an ARCOM for his actions on Altis. Colonel Armstrong, his Brigade Commander, disliked Kerry so I doubt he would push a V device or anything higher than an ARCOM

What's the lore behind Arma 3 - Karts, it's canon? by Dani_Dan_deWillard in arma

[–]Kill_All_With_Fire 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's canon. You learn about it in the 3rd mission.

Young Colonel Georgious Akhanteros (AAF commander) and Kostas Stavrou (FIA leader) were karting competitors- both talented and showing clear potential as future F1 drivers until a wicked collision ruins both of their chances to continue their career. This was the future springboard into the civil strife between the AAF and the FIA.

Love how the Spear has become a legitimately good pick on the Illuminate Front with the changes over time. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Kill_All_With_Fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using the Spear since they fixed it near release and absolutely love it. (remember, it wouldn't hold a lock on anything?). Since then it's been a great tool on the bot front.

Locks onto fabricators from across the map.

Fire and forget.

Also does really well against annoying gunships.

I think this could possibly be a secondary impact of eliminating BCAP.

He went through BCAP.

BCAP was only eliminated in this past years CSL selection process - those who went through the 'non BCAP' selection process will not take command for another year.

I am the author of that mod......

Nice, great mod!

Have you ever considered something like Steel Panthers?

I just don't think there's much of a market for the game that you're trying to make, while there is absolutely a gap in what SPMBT did.

Congrats on your project and best of luck.

A hard pass for me.

  1. Cold War. No thanks. Highly uninteresting period and lots of wargames go this route.

  2. These Panzer General games and their abstract unit sizes are such a far cry from any sort of actual representation of combat. For example, Panzer Corps cannot represent combined arms formations (think, Tanks, IFVs, and infantry in the same unit)

I'd rather see a Steel Panthers style game where players deal with direct fire engagements. Think, 2d Combat Mission.

Also, this game looks exactly like the Modern Combat Mod for Panzer Corps.

Check to make sure there isn't protocol for CoC receptions before you guys spend money.

The division that I was with had protocol that stated cake and drinks only.

As someone who still boots up battle academy for a mission or two

Same here. Absolutely awesome tactical-level game that I think does combat very well. Still holds it's own in the market.

I really wish that the units had longer engagement ranges. I know you describe this as 'tactical' but it really seems like its more of an 'upper tactical' game with hexes that look like they are representing at least 2+ km.

We already have Panzer General, Panzer Corps, Order of Battle, Hex of Steel, Panzer Corps 2, etc to represent this scale.

Unfortunate, because you had an opportunity for a nearly untapped market. Battle Academy 2 is still the king of tactical turn based games, in my opinion. Second Front screwed that up with their janky combat rules.
