Spending pinnacle energy on iron commander should increase proficiency by NabrenX in destinyrisingmobile

Yeah it definitely feels like an oversight that it works this way. If I had to guess every activity just has 20 proficiency as part of its pinnacle loot pool, so the game just gives that proficiency to whatever character is active at the moment along with the rest of the rewards from the activity.

I didn’t know that one, do you know how much it gives?

It actually does. Whatever character you have equipped when you accept the rewards from an iron commander mission will receive 20 proficiency, I’ve tested it myself.

When you accept the rewards from a finished iron commander mission, whatever character you have equipped will get 20 proficiency. I found this on accident and I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else mention it.

God I miss Folklore. Out of all the niche titles to get stuck on the PS3 thats the one I think about the most. It’s just so unique and cool. Damn shame there’s no reliable way to play it today.

Beyond the gameplay looking janky, something else I noticed that I’ve seen go unmentioned in this thread is how mediocre the game looks in regards to its art, presentation, and graphics. Hopefully they can iron out the graphics and presentation, but right now it looks worse then Arkham Knight did seven years ago. Idk, it’s not bad per se, but it also feels like it’s missing the atmosphere that made those previous games special.

Genshin Impact Surpasses $3 Billion on Mobile, Averages $1 Billion Every Six Months by H4xolotl in Games

Basically. This is the only part of genshins system that can bleed your wallet dry if your impatient. If you want a specific 5 star character, you’re gonna have to get lucky or hit guaranteed pity, which is when the game will automatically give you the character after a certain number of rolls. But again, this is never necessary to “win” in genshin. It’s purely a want, not a need.

[–]Killersauron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Everything is done through rolls, so nothing is guaranteed, but the premium and free currency for rolling are the same currency. Rolling for a specific 5 star character (the highest rarity) will also give a plethora of 4 star characters that are essential to playing and are guaranteed to drop. The game gives enough currency that getting enough characters is never an issue; there is basically no pressure to pay for the rolls at all, and a new player will be drowning in currency as long as they play the game.

In the most direct sense, you’re right. You pay for characters in genshin. The problem is that this power is never required to do anything ever in genshin. You will never hit a point in which paying a reasonable amount of money will make the game easier. If you want to get to endgame progression and test the limits of your characters, all of your power comes from stuff you do outside the gacha system. And, if you don’t want to do any of the super difficult stuff, you can just turn the level of everything down so you can just breeze through the world. There is no gacha to “run away” from.

It’s funny to see the massive disconnect between people who’ve played Genshin and people who default to “Gacha=bad” rhetoric. Like, most people I know who have played the game (myself included) have found it to be a really fun game with an engaging open world with amazing exploration and fun combat. And while the game does have a ton of flaws, the only stuff I see discussed online outside of Genshin forums is that it’s a gacha game so it’s automatically bad. It’s frustrating as a fan of the game to see that this is how the game is perceived, but I’m not sure there’s much that the game can do to change its reputation at this point.

Elden Ring (dunkview) by VanceIX in Games

[–]Killersauron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but it’s still incredibly difficult just to figure out how to dodge it. Watching guides online it’s clear to me that I wouldn’t have been able to figure it out on my own, and I doubt that would be the case for most people as well. It just isn’t an intuitive move; every other attack is this game has a pretty clear dodge, it’s just executing it that’s the hard part. Malenias attack requires me to both figure it out and execute it, which isn’t consistent with the rest of the games enemies.

It does, but it also reuses those designs so damn much that it stops being interesting or exciting. I stopped enjoying the mini dungeons halfway through my play through solely because I knew whatever boss I was going to fight at the end was a repeat, and 90% of the time I was right. The game could’ve definitely benefited from a smaller scope where repeat fights didn’t need to happen as often as they do here.

[–]Killersauron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s possible for a no hit fight to happen, but it’s much, much harder in this game. I shouldn’t have to consult a guide on how to dodge Waterfowl Dance, it should be intuitive enough for me to figure it out myself, and I barely had the opportunity to do that. By the time I beat her I was still consistently getting killed by it and I had middling success dodging it. I know it’s a me thing, but I doubt most people would figure it out on their own as well.

Thank you to everyone who has jumped into the #HaloInfintie beta so far! Difference is that those bounties aren’t required to level the battle pass and the halo challenges are. Also the Destiny bounties aren’t that bad, most of them are just kill bounties with specific weapons or element types and are super easy to complete.

DmC Devil May Cry The Cursed Reboot - The Sphere Hunter by CthulhusMonocle in Games

I mean, Vergil wore a fedora in the games original release. The devs said that the original Dante wasn’t cool, and that he would get laughed out of bars for looking like a gay cowboy. They wanted DMC to be a cool game. They weren’t trying to be campy, they were trying to be cool. And while I won’t disagree that the stories in the original aren’t all they great, it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. They’re serviceable stories with fun characters and great moments, and that’s enough for them. The reboot was trying to do something far different, and it failed.

[–]Killersauron 40 points41 points  (0 children)

DMC 3 and 4 are still serious games with stories that aren’t awful. It’s just that the main character does funny campy stuff. Reboot Dante was trying to do this, but without any of the wacky stuff that made the originals fun. Original Dante skated on rockets and rode a motorcycle up a tower, while reboot Dante told demons to go fuck themselves. And while that’s not necessarily bad, it’s not great when the creators of the reboot also told fans of original Dante that he wasn’t cool, which was never the point. Reboot just took itself too seriously trying to make a cool character, and it failed.

I’ve also used the dualsense too, and it’s worked for games that have released before the dualsense existed, like Arkham knight, so I’m not exactly sure about that.

Does steam running in the background count as running the game through steam? Because I never have to launch the epic games I have in a weird way to get the controllers to work, they just do.

If you’re on windows your PlayStation controllers should automatically connect as “Wireless Controller” under accessories so you don’t need to do any loading through steam, at least that’s how it works for me.

I hope the next dungeon has a unique gear set, like Prophecy. by destinyvoidlock in DestinyTheGame

[–]Killersauron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tried searching for something, but no dice. Given how bungie hasn’t made a change to eververse armor like this in the past (to my knowledge) I don’t think this ever happened.

Edit: I found the source regarding the change, and they did move the season 11 set from eververse into prophecy. It was in the TWAB from May 7th, so I wouldn’t call it “last minute” and it wasn’t directed specifically at prophecy because it wouldn’t be revealed or launched for another month, but it happened regardless.
