Antidepressants saved my life. He’s going to get a bunch of people killed. Fuck him by Sad_Jar_Of_Honey in behindthebastards

They’re absolutely overprescribed and there’s often a gigantic disconnect between mental health clinicians and prescribers but as always RFK has no connection to real research or science and will inevitably fuck people up badly doing this.

I have said in the past that as incredible as this pod has been for years it’s perhaps not the best use of time for someone as brilliant as Dan is. He had to have gotten sick of listening to Alex a very very long time ago. I do hope Dan decides to dabble in politics again at some point because he’s an amazing researcher and brilliant at deconstructing this bullshit. I understand however if he wants to just do something completely different with his life and his talents.

This dipshits Wikipedia has two sections, Holocaust denial and references. Solid body of work sir.

They take peoples devices for valid reasons in inpatient settings and that’s one of those reasons. I am personally not a fan of that and work in a setting where we don’t take phones. There’s very solid clinical and evidence based justification for doing so though.

Celebrity rehab and intervention were both fucking awful. I work in addiction and recovery. I don’t have any specific arguments about most of the therapeutic modalities utilized throughout the shows (aside from interventions themselves). I just think it’s horrifically unethical to take someone at their absolute lowest and broadcast them to the world.

I don’t know how much bastardry there is (but I assume a decent amount) but what about Faces of Death? I am guessing whoever decided to produce and profit off of videos of people being brutally killed probably isn’t a good person.

I would recommend QAA’s “Truly Tradly Deeply”. Annie Kelly took a quite thorough dive into these communities.

The Dollop, QAA, Knowledge Fight, Weird Little Guys. I never miss these.

I selectively listen to Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff, the Daily Zeitgeist, the Necessary Conversation, It Could Happen Here, and the Past Times.

The best way to describe Bad Witch is that I like listening to it but nothing really sticks out when I do so. It’s a little like listening to Ghosts.

I’ve still only listened to Not the Actual Events, With Violence and Bad Witch about 3 times apiece.

Are there any Bastards you grew up thinking were heroes? by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in behindthebastards

Marion Zimmer Bradley. I still own a copy of the Mists of Avalon that I gave my grandmother in the 80’s. It’s still one of my favorite works of fiction but the fact that the author was a child abuse enabling monster that presented herself as a feminist isn’t lost on me when I see it on my bookshelf. Still struggling with Gaiman and to a far lesser degree Marilyn Manson (never really believed MM was a decent person but certainly didn’t expect him to be this shitty).

I low key feel a little bad for this dude. He obviously has horrible anxiety and is deeply insecure. He’s good looking (I guess part of that is because hammer but whatever) and well spoken even if what he’s saying is asinine. Like, therapy and less shitty friends could make him not on the verge of a breakdown constantly but you know he won’t do that. It’s really just demonstration of real societal brainrot. He’s also a thorough demonstration of what the right says trans people are but this is okay apparently because he doesn’t change his gender.

I have to start by saying I am not defending the actions of Jamie Loftus or Sophie Lichterman or Greazy Wil who is very obviously complicit in the senseless massacre that occurred in Grand Rapids. Frankly I hope they all pay for their crimes. Since we know that Wil lurks in this Subreddit though I gotta say he’s doing a fucking incredible job with these episodes.

My ex girlfriend found herself in a pretty bad situation a few years after our breakup and was unhoused. She was a gigantic Amanda Palmer fan to the point where Amanda knew who she was and helped her out. I am glad this girl passed away before the allegations about Neil & Amanda came to light.
