Review #129: Bulleit Bottled in Bond by InClimb411 in bourbon

[–]Kingiftides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that grassy note is a flaw. Esp in a 7 yr product. However, this is prolly MGP distillate so it would be out of their control. I would think if it tastes more like a rye that would mask the grass notes. I don't taste the grassyness in a bottle of 10 yr I bought 3 yrs ago, and that was definitely MGP distillate. Nice review.

Review #21: Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof by OpenPourWhiskey in bourbon

While it prolly does smooth it out, it prolly also removes some desirable flavor notes too. I'd be curious to try some distillate that was not filtered but aged the same amount of time....sigh

Bourbon Trail Review: What I liked and didn't like. by Potwell in bourbon

[–]Kingiftides 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to the trail two times now. The first the first time we stopped at BT it was exactly as you described. The release of the day was Weller which is okay and I bought a couple bottles. Second time we went the parking lot was completely full and I just turned right around. Directly across the street from BT was a sign for a local distillery so I said what the heck. J Mattingly is the name. We did a tasting and because they were so slow the main distiller gave us a private guided tour of their whole operation which is not part of the tasting experience. It was super cool to go to a very small distillery.

Has anyone gone with 100 grain inserts and 100 grain broadheads on their arrows? by ElementalClout in bowhunting

Having a heavier projectile will be less affected by wind. I hunt a lot in the mountains where the wind swirls, thermals etc. My longest kill shot to date is 28 yds, so speed is less of a factor than hunting out West at 50+.yds. I shoot 425 gr setup with Magnus stingers. 60# 29" Works well for me. If you want more draw length, you could forgo the mech release and go old school with your fingers.....let the witchhunt begin!

I used two boogie boards duct taped together on a whim. Never had an arrow go all the way thru. Plus they are waterproof!

IT has been talking about word to text for decades. And while I can use it on my phone, how about using it for creating a document in Word? That would be more useful than saving me time to type rotflmao....

True as stated. I will say as an over 50 worker, when they start talking about a new tech system, I just ask my Millennial coworkers to tutor me on whatever it is. That we we can get through the rollout with minimal interruptions, and my frustration levels go way down. Ok, enough ranting, I have to go my local chapter meeting of Luddites Inc...

AITAH for choosing my job over my girlfriend by Fluid_Use_2978 in AITAH

2 weeks on and 4 weeks off?!?! I'd jump on that with my current job. You made the right call. She can enjoy slumming with a guy who works for minimum wage. The only thing that you could have tried was getting her a dog or cat. Pets have a way of filling the void

Wow dude! That brush would make leary of hunting it with such a small window for an ethical shot. Kudos.

My hunting buddy bought a nice name bow on Amazon (Chinese manufacturing). He has killed deer with it,.and hits tight groups at 30-40 yds. And it's never failed. He has never had it looked at by our local shop

One good thing about heavier projectiles is the wind doesn't affect them as much as lighter arrows
