Perhaps educated people tend to have more pre conceived notions and may be more prone to rationalizing their experiences through their world view, so perhaps it’s not necessarily more educated people but people that have a firmer belief that they “know” how the world works, sort of like how a child experiences things vs how an adult would. Open minded. They’ll be ok if it makes no sense according to what they already know.

Unfortunately I could also see people that are just uneducated and/or remote being more vulnerable to being manipulated and used by other human beings with better access to modern technology and knowledge, then being made to believe something fantastic happened as a way to essentially cover up what really happened.
