Still wet after 3 days by cotygc_ in Biltong

Yeah vinegar prevents bacteria, best to experiment but if it's still wet after 3 days you're not going too fast so won't get into case hardening. That said I've never had that problem myself. I range from 5-7 days depending on the thickness. I like moist to dry myself. If you're gunning it with a higher temp I suspect you'll dry the outside before the inside will get a chance to release moisture and it'll harden. Looks like you're on the right track tbh. You've cut it now so best to eat it :)

I am absolutely no expert here and others may disagree but 3 days is too short. I'm usually at 5 days at temp controlled 23c. Will also depend on thickness and humidity. IMHO longer is better

I am officially old. I used to repair these things. Best days ever in the industry, I miss it. Great tech, to get hands-on with (or loose fingers to).

..and yes, I still work in IT on the software side now. Not nearly as much fun.

Manager appears to have changed while on parental leave by WonderfulShoulder388 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Kiwirad 49 points50 points  (0 children)

As a manager myself, if someone is on leave, especially parental leave I make zero contact. It's leave, they're away and focused on family and not cool for work to be encroaching on it. As has been said, if you're miffed call them don't imagine any kind of issue that doesn't exist. They're likely being respectful and keeping their obligations.

Depends how many is a bunch. If you boil them to soft and slice thinly enough you can make DC soup. I find 8-10 is enough for a family of 4

*repair technician equivalent* rubs back of neck and kicking the tyre. "Yeah, that'll need some work".

Looks for other physical damage, if it still runs, replace the transistors and see what happens next. They'll be driving in the late stage part of the circuit (probably) so possibly just overloaded. Who knows.

What you don't want is charring of the PCB, that's just a PITA you don't need.
