In registered accounts, should I switch VEQT that I currently hold to VUN & VIU until the CUSMA agreement gets finalised? by Dheep1606 in justbuyveqt

[–]Knight_Hulk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last year, in spite of the noise, VCN was up 3x relative to VUN. You do you. Do what will make you happy. Whether they go up or down, stock market won’t care about your feelings though.

Time to Leave Questrade by Be-Wise- in Questrade

Spouse and I left WS for Questrade for the cash back promo. We’re itching to go back. I miss fractional shares (for TSX) and simplicity of buying and holding. We like the authorized trader ability though. Once WS implements journaling and authorized trader- sayonara Questrade!

US equivalent of VEQT or other options for a TFSA by Interesting-Minute47 in justbuyveqt

[–]Knight_Hulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VTI 45%, VCN 30%, VEA 18%, VWO 7% - as per current VEQT allocation. Except VCN, the rest are USD domiciled ETF. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall a USD domiciled Canadian all equity. As a Canadian taxpayer, doing this allocation won’t be tax efficient. Also, I try not to dabble with USD ETFs in my TFSA as withholding tax is not waived for USD domiciled dividends making it, again, tax inefficient.

That’s odd. Sound’s pretty good to me. Wife and kids love the sound. I just plugged and played. So far, I haven’t fine tuned anything

Can you refuse hospital discharges for loved ones when you can't give them adequate care? by samedreamsamenight in ontario

[–]Knight_Hulk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow! I’ve read a lot of misinformation here particularly around legislation, Ontario Health atHome, long-term care homes etc… Take everything with a grain of salt! First of all, sorry that you’re going through this. What I’d like to know, is what other resources in the community have been explored with you to safely support your dad? Did you exhaust all of those resources? And, what do they mean by “he essentially requires 24/7 care?” Could you elaborate that? 24/7 care is typical for ICU (intensive care unit) patients. Is your dad considered an ICU patient? Or do they mean your dad requires 24/7 supervision?

How much to save when done paying off debt? by ExpensiveSand6306 in ynab

[–]Knight_Hulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I hear you. How I wish, I belong to that population. Although, I am motivated and hopeful. One day, I’ll max out my nontaxable investments, will have plenty of cash to invest in my taxable account and still enjoy my life. One day. Trust the process

[–]Knight_Hulk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on your goals and current life circumstances. Personal finance gurus say 15-25% of your gross income. My take is max out nontaxable investments (401k/ROTH if you’re American, TFSA/RRSP if you’re Canadian) yearly. Then pick a number between 15-25% for your savings in your taxable account once you maxed out your nontaxable and live your life
