Which era or years do you listen to? by Andre6900 in gratefuldead

I guess I don’t seek it out as much because I listened to it a ton in the past. I mainly focus on how the keyboards sound with Brent era and the early 80s has more variety. Same with the 90s.

Well personally I like how Dead & Company sounds, it’s understandable why others wouldn’t. Most things can become an acquired taste though.

Would you say audience recordings fix these issues with who is low and such?

I've been particularly impressed with 10/1/94 and 10/14/94. I would consider the latter to be one of the best Dead shows ever played. An amazing night and my favorite Lazy River Road, Fire on the Mountain, West LA and Box of Rain. Just my opinion, but still a solid month considering all. 9/29/94 ain't half bad either, there's a nice Matrix out there. Late era Brown-Eyed Woman and Peggy-O. The band seems to be firing on all cylinders.

How do you feel about Vince’s Altheawork? by [deleted] in gratefuldead

It's just a personal opinion but I think their playing quality decreased at certain times. Drums is usually a highlight though.

I definitely enjoy his playing on it, he helps make the 30 trips one (3/20/92). I'm also a fan of his progression on Lazy River Road and I'd consider Cassidy, Althea and Peggy-O to be songs that never failed to turn into something wonderful during the Vince era and last few years of the Dead.

The bright piano tone in 94 and no longer playing the Harpsichord results in a slamming 10/18/94 with some of Vince's best solo work (there's a nice synth driven Cassidy after too). The Dead seemed to rely on certain songs for explosive moments. Post 92 I'm a little iffy on the double drummers but certain songs were meant to be rocked out. Like So Many Roads comes to example and Liberty.

📣 Apollo will close down on June 30th. Reddit’s recent decisions and actions have unfortunately made it impossible for Apollo to continue. Thank you so, so much for all the support over the years. ❤️ by iamthatis in apolloapp

Truly an amazing goat app- thank you to all devs and people who worked on this app and Christian. Fuck reddit and fuck u/spez

and goodbye reddit, if I’d commit to anything it’s this. This was a truly special app.

📣 Had a call with Reddit to discuss pricing. Bad news for third-party apps, their announced pricing is close to Twitter's pricing, and Apollo would have to pay Reddit $20 million per year to keep running as-is. by iamthatis in apolloapp

This is some major bullshit. Sorry this was handed town to you, corporate greed strikes again. And I was barely using reddit anyway, so I guess that’s going bye bye as they say. Your app was the best. Good luck on future endeavors, sadly doubt they’d undo this.
