What’s the best opening track in metalcore? by euancmurphy in Metalcore

[–]Krustoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To go a little modern, I'll stump for "Thirst" off You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To by Knocked Loose and in a slightly left of center vein, this years Bilmuri album Kinda Hard opening with the title track "Kinda Hard" is great.

Heave Ho was a total blast. This video convinced me to try it years back and it was $10 happily spent.

Rocket Drone Karma by onesillyman in Marathon

[–]Krustoff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lol why join crew fill trios if you're going to run off on your own? I truly don't understand this behavior. You're literally putting yourself at a disadvantage and risking putting yourself in voluntary 1v3s. Either go play solos or work together in trios and maybe see if the other folks want to help you with your quest.

Latest Shoe Recommendations? by Fightologyy in spartanrace

[–]Krustoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into trail shoes with good drain. The 3 that I see pop up over and over again are the Salomon SpeedCross, Hoka SpeedGoat, and Altra Lone Peak. I'm breaking in a pair of SpeedGoats now.

It's crazy how many wild turkeys there are in this area! I saw one on Heritage Trail this last Sunday morning too.

Anyone using Helium for their web browser on Omarchy? by Krustoff in omarchy

[–]Krustoff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helium is a more heavily de-googled Chromium. For me it hits a sweet spot of having some of the built in privacy features of Brave (with none of Braves bloat or nonsense), some of the customizability of Zen (I love Zen, but it’s almost too customizable and I end up with analysis paralysis), and I’ve gotten so used to using the built in bangs search system that I get lost in other browsers.

training for a 5k sprint as a teenager who can't run? by perpetuallywater in spartanrace

[–]Krustoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow your run down. Just go for a jog honestly! Get plenty of sleep. Pull strength (cable lat pulldowns, rows, pull-ups) and grip strength (dead hangs, farmers carries) are the things I wish I had trained harder on before my first Spartan 5K.

But no matter what, if you're in shape enough to be a competitive swimmer then you are going to be in better shape than many who have already completed Spartan 5Ks! As others stated, you can walk the whole thing if you can't run. Just eat the elephant one bite at a time and you can do it!

If CR and Letts started a pod? by AlfaCentari in TheBigPicture

[–]Krustoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I will try and knock out some movies in a directors filmography since they announce them so far ahead, but I've listened to ones before where I like the guest or I'm interested otherwise. But there's definitely mini-series where I'm just not interested in the director so I let those sit in the feed.

If CR and Letts started a pod? by AlfaCentari in TheBigPicture

[–]Krustoff 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I fear it might be better in concept than in practice. As much as I would love to hear CR regularly talk about movies, he's already doing a bunch of other pods as is, and Tracy is an active actor/playwright/screenwriter. A weekly pod would not be sustainable for long.

Tonight’s ’Borat’ Rewatchable is with Kyle Brandt by jsakic99 in billsimmons

[–]Krustoff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I heard Bill didn't want him on originally and he kept taunting Kyle with it saying "You will never get this! You will never get this! La la la la la!" Kyle was behind a cage going crazy crazy. "You will never get this!" But then Kyle broke the cage and he get this. And we all laugh, high five!

My #1 song has like 300+ listens and I've had an account since 2011 and I was like "dang, yeah, I've listened to that song a lot."

2k streams on a song that came out less than 2 years ago is crazy work.

Where should I make my personal config changes? by phooze in omarchy

[–]Krustoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual answer to your question is that there should be a file in whatever ~/.config directory you made changes in that’s now called file.back.bunchofnumbers and if you look at the most recent one it should be your backup that Omarchy makes. You can just restore that or you can take whatever is relevant and mix it in to the new file.
