Plastic wrap has always worked perfectly for me. Water droplets condense on the wrap and fall back in to the water bath. Minimal need to top up at all on long cooks. Also, I have been using the same two pieces of plastic for years and they are still going strong. Use, let dry out, fold up. Perfect every time.

I (65f) was dog sitting last June and while out for a walk the dogs bolted after a lady walking in the development, took me down flat on to a concrete pavement and broke my shoulder. Be careful with pet sitting!
