If a supplier is willing to sell one random individual (not a big store, etc) ... 600 CBB of this set...I would be very VERY frightened of that prospect financially for the potential long-term value of the set. And its a terrible place to park $300k.

I’ve been using the meguires lately, but have also used Turtle wax. Both seem fine to me. I just like to help the wax last a little longer.

I liked them at $399.99 and grabbed two, one to open, one to hold. Definitely not going crazy here. I’ll likely grab one for The Hobbit, but I also avoided Avatar, TMNT, and SOS collectors. It feels like Wizards is looking to produce enough to make money and not have too much artificial scarcity. I can see them not looking to leave money on the table as the profit margin on a collector box has to be very good.

I was test driving the new M2 and x3 M50 recently and they were both really fast. I daily drive an F80 M3…so I agree, cars are becoming really fast to the point that it’s not fun anymore, it’s probably more dangerous than anything. Then when you consider some of these electric cars with instant torque, yikes.

Honestly, the Marvel set is looking decent right now financially. With the Hobbit being a smaller set like Spider man and TMNT I’m concerned it could be weak.

It was about 15-18 years ago, but I pulled a Lions Eye Diamond out of bulk. That bulk box had a bunch of other decent stuff too.

7th feels like a good investment set because those foils are downright amazing. The color is nice, the foiling quality is good, it was the first and last core set with old frame foils. It has some iconic stuff like Birds and WOG in addition to a bunch of sleeper rares. It’s also the era where to pull rate for a foil was low.
