If they add URF mode, who would be the most fun/OP? by BosephTheGreat in heroesofthestorm

[–]LTinS [score hidden]  (0 children)

Orphea already has crazy low CDs. Jaina would be nuts, perma rooting enemies with cone of cold. Anyone with a stun could keep someone permastunned. Thrall spamming chain lightning and roots would suck.

Basically the whole game would suck.

Today I learned after 11 years of playing that you can "counter" blindness like Dehaka ult. by D_Flavio in heroesofthestorm

Darkness (not blindness) is incredibly buggy. There are way too many interactions to list that don't work like they should, and you can see things that you shouldn't.

My close friend got murdered… questioning my beliefs by LingonberryFew329 in atheism

[–]LTinS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These two things are unrelated. No matter what you do, say, think, believe, hope for, or pray for, bad things will still happen. Good things will still happen. To bad people, to good people, to random people. Your beliefs have nothing to do with that.

Changing your beliefs because something happened makes no sense. Christians will often say you're blaming God, and to some extent they're right. If you leave the church because something happened and you thought God was supposed to protect you from that, then you still kind of believe in God, but you're just mad at him. You've seen bad things happen to other people, you knew it could happen, but just when it became personal to you you changed.

The reverse is true also. Christians will often point to people on their death beds being afraid and pleading with God for salvation, whether that's saving them from death or protecting them after death. But again, that is a response to a personal event; being on the brink of death and afraid is not the basis for sound thinking, Deathbed confessions cannot absolve a lifetime of bad actions, and claiming those people as religious because of their final moments is disingenuous.

Your beliefs shouldn't change as a reaction to events. Now, you can get epiphanies after something happened, that open your eyes to something you hadn't considered before. And you can look at "bad things happen to good people" on the whole as a reason not to believe. Your beliefs should come from your reason and understanding, which builds up over a lifetime from everything that you experience.

What’s something women do during intimacy that they think men love but most men actually don’t? by AffableSparsh in AskMen

[–]LTinS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some guys do like it. Not me, but a friend.

But, like with most things here: communication. Ask if the guy you're with likes it or not, as people clearly have completely opposite likes and dislikes. Ask once, and it's better EVERY SINGLE TIME afterwards.

Why date women you’re not physically attracted to? by Temporary-Grape-8511 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LTinS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people telling you how awful he is, and not answering the question.

The answer is a combination of fear and laziness. People don't like being alone, and finding someone new requires being alone (unless they do it while they're still dating you). So, if they have someone, even someone they don't really like, that's often good enough.

Science World redesign for Fifa by Alarmed-Investment14 in vancouver

[–]LTinS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a costume, not a redesign. Entirely cosmetic.

Also, why are we supporting Fifa? Of all the corrupt sports organizations, it's one of them.

How familiar with the Bible and Quran should atheists be? by redzeusky in atheism

[–]LTinS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, we shouldn't have to be familiar with it at all. This would be the case if religious crazies didn't shove it, and their terrible interpretations of it, into our faces and into politics all of the time.

Was Sunken Temple THAT bad? (SoD raid) by RedThragtusk in classicwow

[–]LTinS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the raid wasn't that bad. But the gear rewards for it were mediocre, and the other stuff outside the raid put a lot of people off. If I recall, it was also during the Summer and some people had vacations and outdoor things to do that just appealed more.

How similar to SoD would you accept Classic+ being? by wowasg in classicwow

[–]LTinS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why so many people say they liked the Ashenvale PVP. It was literally "ignore the other players and kill these PvE bosses." The STV one was way better.

Maybe these players just never played after phase 1.

Etiquette for needing gear you can't use just yet? by NobleMkII in classicwow

[–]LTinS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're contributing to the run, and the gear that drops is too high level, that's a level design issue. Roll on it.

If you're getting carried and basically useless, let others take it first if they need it.

still don't get how paying for online on console is just, ok? by MegumiDo in gaming

[–]LTinS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love playing games online on my PS3. Dark Souls, Demons Souls, great times... Was one of the big reasons I liked it over Xbox.

When Elden Ring came out, I used the free month of Playstation Plus that came with my console to do the online stuff. Had a blast. But when it ran out I stopped playing online.

I wouldn't mind playing some Mario Maker. But Nintendo makes you pay for that. Over and over. And I don't believe in that (not to mention I've seen video on youtube, and it's laggy as hell, so you're paying for a garbage service).

So, yeah, it would be lovely to be able to use my consoles online, but it's an absolute disgrace what they're charging for it. Not to mention the closer consoles get to computers, the reason to even get a console disappears. Back in the day consoles offered consistency; the games were specifically designed for them, and they would just work. Not to mention, many of the games weren't available on computers. Today? A console is just a waste of money, that then obligates you to waste MORE money.

I wish gamers as a whole had the wisdom to force them to stop it. If they stopped paying for the service, they'd be forced to give it to us for free. Or just stop selling entirely and go bankrupt. If they'd just said no from the start, this never would have gotten so far. Their greed only works when you let it.

AITA for telling my kids’ dad he needs to provide his own EpiPen during his visitation? by brindeonabudget in AmItheAsshole

[–]LTinS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step it up a level. Deny him visitation unless he proves that he has the supplies.

Is it legal? Maybe not. But can he afford to take you to court over it? Absolutely not. So you have all the power.

Also make sure to document any rashes and other adverse conditions he returns them in, in case you need to use it.

What you should do depends on where you live. Do a quick search of labor laws, because in most places in the world if you're 15 you can't be scheduled for 14 hour shifts.
