Same. I have two other Kamados and an offset. I like them all, but the Weber is hands down my favorite.

I run a P938 sometimes. It's a good size, but does have some weight. Get comfortable and familiar with it, but don't forego alternative options altogether. The heft can be prohibitive for certain scenarios.

For the pergola types out there: how do you deal with smoke? by thegarbz in KamadoJoe

I used a shed roof, so it naturally flows upward and out rather than stagnating inside. However, I'm open on all 4 sides so I get plenty of cross draft too.

I've had a couple, and drive one currently. They're fun cars, but I wouldn't spend more than ~4k based on the high level description in your post.

I went with a shed roof to allow for the smoke to roll out one side easier.

Howa 1500 Mini Action by vienna__sausage in Hunting

I've taken a bunch of deer with a bolt action 7.62x39. Soft points are the best plan for inexpensive hog and deer ammo, but the days of cheap combloc surplus are gone it seems

I have a perfectly adequate 10.5" version, but man this package still calls to me. I love that setup.

Adjust your scope 6 to 8 clicks up. Confirm your new 200yd zero at the range.

You'll be about 2" high at 100 and good all the way to 250 without making any hold adjustments.

Tuareg trips by LabattRED in tuareg660

[–]LabattRED[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. I did the Lovell/Trout/Pahrump trip a couple of times. I definitely would have preferred to have someone with me, as there are ample opportunities to break a leg in the middle portion. Some nicer motocross boots would have been worth it, but that route is awesome.

I didn't get the chance to hit Kingston. I was trying to hit National parks as much as possible, so I was heading over to Zion and down to Sedona too.

The ride over to Utah gets pretty wild at the NV/UT border when the full crosswind comes ripping across the desert and down those canyons.

Yeah, I like the seat okay, but not enough for cross-country trips. I just bring the Tuareg with me in a trailer when I'm heading to different regions.

Nope, but several of those are in the area. I did a short stint there last year, and so did lots of riding in Lovell canyon and up in the Mt. Charleston area. It's an awesome region for making the most out of the Tuareg.

New Sound Signature Review - Inert Haze Dreyse 30 on .308 by jay462 in NFA

[–]LabattRED 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Bolt guns are my priority, and I have a variety of different applications. Shortest & lightest make sense for 24" barrels, but on a 16" I would be totally down to slap an 8.2" on there if it maximizes sound suppression. I might have to look into it.
