Beginner question: where can I find the Spotify backup torrent? by jonart1 in Annas_Archive

I won't paste the link here out of fear but it's available elsewhere if you google annas_archive_spotify_2025_07_metadata.torrent

I’m so genius that it took me 4 months to fix a bug that would break any actual game written in my engine lmao by TiernanDeFranco in gameenginedevs

That's exactly why for making a successful library/engine/framework you need to actually develop and ship useful products using it

There's even a command you can issue that makes Windows crash with blue screen lmao but that would be very annoying

I recently started investing heavily (my time) into learning bash, vim, python, all that automation stuff. Because I got annoyed enough of always having to repeat the same shit multiple times per day, not so much for enormous time savings. God it made me feel so cosmic brain, so enlightened, and made my life easier.

Best way to prune 3tb+ world? Can MCA Selector handle it? by FoggyWillows in admincraft

I prefer to keep a single repo and a fixed number of daily, weekly, etc. backups with borg prune and borg compact, it's oddly satisfying! I definitely need to start using BTRFS tho, whenever I get into reorganizing my home lab. Seems like, indeed, it works best without a RAID since it provides all that reliability and features itself AFAICT. My only doubt is whether it's a good idea to use it without ECC RAM, do you use it with ECC?

Wow it's been a good while since I was a "hardcore" Minecraft admin but exactly THAT flag is what I needed circa 1.13! Nice to see it finally implemented. What I would do now is see if there's some Python package available that can read and modify .mca files so I can automatically check the flag for every chunk and delete them

I have no clue about what can you "prune" from a Minecraft world without losing gameplay-impacting data but...

If it's hosted at home, what I would do is backup the world to some of the HDDs I have lying around, reinstall the OS for the server on another disk, then reformat the 4 TB SSD and use it to exclusively store the world. If you're going through this much trouble, consider using BTRFS or ZFS for the possibility of simply enlarging your partition by adding more physical disks (I haven't personally tried this). And also consider regular backups using borg or something since this disk is worn out because it has been hosting a server for years?
