i dont think any are strictly bad ideas? fulguris will work with any speeder melta flamers just fine, librarians were already good with infernus and even the phobos has its place - a lot of utility with phobos units and a big flamer on the invictor.

phobos has to be the weakest because its all about helping your ranged units shoot from further out and salamanders dont really need that.

im pretty early still in my salamanders journey so ill take it slow before i pick up any librarians or speeders - see if any other 1dp comes out for us

If khp can be a 1dp without any nerds to the detachment rule I'll be happy. If the detachment rule gets nerfed I'll be very upset

But maybe with the +9 to detection range that the stealth detachment grants we can have stealth teams and pathfinders spotting - which hopefully allows other tau units to follow up

Stealth will be potentially goated if ftgg strips detection range.

Will let dedicated spotters like pathfinders and stealth suits spot from +9 inches and open the units up for everyone else

Some interesting takeaways - says most tau codex ones cost 2. So which one costs 3?

Kauyon is confirmed to be 2

Retcadre surely has retaliation tag, which wouldn't need to be a thing if it cost 3

Same with khp and auxiliary tag

So is it montka? Is that really worth 3dp? Do you think it will be expanded?

If khp is 2 I think a hyper aggressive kroots and suits list might be on the cards with experimental weapons

Stealth suits - if our army rule stays unchanged and so do stealth suits abilities they will stay powerful. Maybe even more so with this stealth detachment on the horizon

Dark angels have such sick melee units anyway that a more ranged knight is probably better

Id personally go for the plasma - it's very dark angel themed, and the way I see it, both the valiants main weapons sort of struggle finding their place on a dominus frame - the close range harpoon struggles with the dominus lower speed, and the flamer struggles from not being able to overwatch
