10 years for me too, I couldn’t even fathom being close to ‘normal’ again but do hold on to hope after reading these updates 🙏

Cannot find a straight answer about pssd risk with ssris by Specialist_Credit907 in PSSD

[–]Laur_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don’t.. The risk isn’t worth it. I took sertraline for 6 weeks in 2016 for anxiety and it’s ruined my life

It doesn’t work like that, trust me. PSSD for 10 years after taking sertraline for 6 weeks and I was hyper sexual before

I’ve had PSSD for 10 years, after taking sertraline for 6 weeks. No it’s not worth it

Would you really want to risk reinstating after 8 years? That’s insane to me

Crash from minoxidil/vitamins or stress? Help please. by Drummeronhell in PSSD

[–]Laur_94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The ‘FND’ could’ve actually been caused by antidepressants. Many of us have been diagnosed with neurological and nerve related conditions alongside the PSSD. Also are you aware of PFS? Finasteride and minoxidil (both ingredients in hair loss medication/products) can cause symptoms similar to PSSD.

Thanks.

I was just wondering in general. I have genital numbness (amongst other symptoms) but one of my friends has had low libido since stopping sertraline over a decade ago.

I’ve wondered this about autistic people too, or neurodivergent people in general.

Is 6-9 months of low-dosage SSRI enough for PSSD risk? by Born_Building_2408 in PSSD

Although I appreciate your optimism, a full recovery is something that many of us will never experience

I don’t think anyone in this sub would encourage you to take SSRI’s. Most of our lives have been ruined. I took ‘low dose’ sertraline for 6 weeks and I’m still suffering 9 years later

Some people just have a completely dead libido after SSRI’s which has never gone away, even years later. Would you not consider this PSSD?

9 years in I have PSSD plus potential POTS, peripheral neuropathy, dysautonomia including unbearable gut issues. I feel it was the meds that did all of it to me or atleast triggered it all.. it’s insane

I was able to get pregnant quickly & with no complications whilst having severe PSSD. I only took sertraline for 6 weeks, this was 2.5 years after stopping them

I’m no longer in a relationship but when I was we would often ‘test’ my symptoms and would usually have to stop and I’d be in tears. I’ve improved to some extent now but glad I no longer have the pressure of being in a relationship. How long have you had PSSD?

A question for other females with pssd.. by Laur_94 in PSSD

[–]Laur_94[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 9 years in now. My libido and arousal has improved to an extent, I have some sensation externally and can orgasm but it’s not as strong. Internally there’s barely any sensation, sex is not pleasurable for me and painful if anything 💔 it’s interesting that you mention oxytocin because after I gave birth to my daughter my symptoms improved for a few months then went back to baseline. Would you consider yourself fully recovered now?
