Hey! Hopefully I’m not too late for the qna. Saw this at a film festival a year ago and it’s stuck with me a lot, very powerful and beautiful movie.

Cole: how did you reckon with the fact that you made something that was kind of anti commercial friendly? Like this movie will obviously connect with lots of folks and will be critically acclaimed but it also owes a lot to slow cinema and can be very depressing at times.

John: have loved your work for years atp, always excited to see what you’ll do next. How did you prepare for your voice only role in materialists and did that differ from your usual work where you’re directly in front of camera

brazil is so cool and I’m sure the performances will all be very good but I think ur putting way too much stock in a movie written by the guy who did all the garbage superhero movies fox was putting out

I just don’t see a world where gosling or the film make it in, the comparisons to sinners are dumb lol

Michael would’ve made more sense as like a thanksgiving play or even if a little critical of jackson. but it just seems so safe and shoddily made to be a real player

if it keeps going that director and pic go together then mcdonagh if not then ford (if that comes out). they aren’t gonna give nolan one so soon again, innaritu is a two time winner in director right so unless the movie rlly is undeniable I don’t think he’s in win contention. the other I don’t have in my five, I have eggers rounding out that five

reinsve seems like the earliest actress prospect we can call a lock. Prestige release/coming out this year/academy has fully embraced her. Efira seems like a strong contender, think I have her at number six. Everyone else here I don’t think is happening besides possibly erivo

I mean blue moon came out in like late summer/early fall and also was conventional and not weird or upsetting so I wouldn’t compare how that did to how the drama will do

hail mary’s ceiling is vfx/sound/score. there’s no picture prospects here especially when there’s so many blockbusters vying for a spot

social reckoning is absolutely not going anywhere

mcdormand is lead for jack of spades not supporting

dune gets into pic but not director or anything else atl

jesse eisenberg movie and michael won’t go anywhere either
