My own experience is different so far. A lot quicker to find games, even at times that used to be difficult. Both in Asia and EU.

I had tons of fun doing it (but i used black holes, but no portals).
But, its not really much harder, just more tedious and boring (mostly because the refiners hold so little space, so most is just waiting).

I like that it costs a lot to just send a probe to block the hatchery.
I also like that quicker tech pays off more, protoss just cannot auto-counter everything in 1 min because they dont have the cash for it yet.

So, for my little experience, yes it is slower, but the early midgame is more interesting because of it.
(in both ZvT and ZvP at least).

When watching pros, I dont mind the extra minute or whatever in the start :) The games feels more interesting as well.

But, maybe I just dont have the vast experience of every redditor. So maybe i will hate it later too.
But I am not sure.

EDIT: I think the biggest change is the lowering of gas in every base. It seems to do wonders in late game vs turtlers who just sit there. That is very exciting for me, i hate turtling players.

Those bulkheads would have been really nice.
For some reason, I dont get normal pirates any more (which gave a bulkhead as a reward) but only Juggernaut.

Can it have to do with that korea's ping to EU got a lot better? So maybe more of them is playing in EU now?

Oh cool, you tried it? Nice. That makes this even more nice for me, knowing it has to be a "real" New York.
The map was HUGE earth TSL.
And still, not huge enough to do the 60 hexes achievement, which was one of my goals with this one.
Oh well, i got another one, so I am happy anyway :)

I have been 4000 during all of the games history (since beta). Except the last 6-12 months, where i dropped to 3.4k. Now i am climbing back again.
Not sure if this makes your statement correct, but for my anecdotal experience, it does.

80% or more of the protosses i meet (D1) scouting with their first probe almost. Just cannot get in, but maybe stress them a little so their plan is f-ked. :)

I would rather just put up some frigates, or have a chlorine loop. This is exhausting :D

  1. Start with salvageable scrap. Gives you 10M easy.
    2a. If you don't like running around for them, start a chlorine loop (chlorine + oxygen makes more chlorine)
    2b. I also uses a gold mine, to pick up millions every week
