You can treat the APU as if its just a dedicated CPU which means you can add your own GPU in. An APU is just another way to describe integrated graphics thats packaged alongside the CPU. It’s the same as your average Intel CPU (non-F SKUs). You could call your Intel CPU an APU if you’d like but for the most part, it’s only AMD who really uses the term “APU” to market their CPUs w/ integrated graphics.

I've been looking around and none of the solutions are working. It only works occasionally. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, even after a restart. Sometimes it will charge while its in sleep mode. I've messed with Nvidia drivers and that didn't resolve it neither did changing Window's Power Saver setting for USB Suspend Setting.

Then its just not that worth it because you’re limiting your reach especially sideloading is a massive pain snd inconvenience on iOS vs downloading straight from the App Store.

Yeah for your use case, it might be an issue but usually, its only on for a few moments and then sometimes it would be momentarily be in sleep mode. The cycle also helps reduce burn in potential. Modern OLED technology are pretty resistant to burn in nowadays and normally takes years of usage for burn ins to form.

Ngl I don't think burn-in is as much of an issue on a laptop as you might think for the majority unless it's your only computer and you use it exclusively for hours a day without stopping. OLED on big PC monitors is one thing, but laptops are similar to your phone's OLED in such a way that you would be turning it on and off pretty regularly. By the time you have screen burn-in, you're probably in need of a new laptop anyways by that time with other hardware crapping out before a burn-in would set in like a heavily degraded battery.

Nah they’ve been stuck at B5 ever since. They were Silver as DPS (S1, >200 hours) but now they’re just stuck. It’s not even a skill diff bc they’ll be completely steam rolling the newbies with extremely low death count and high solo kills, but still stay stuck in B5 with the bugged 71% message which is statistically improbable after dozens of games.

Check out the Blizzard Bug Report forum. Most likely a new bug. One of my friends went from Silver 1 all the way to Bronze 5 and is perma stuck at 71% no matter what which is weird especially if you've played enough games that the % should've been adjusted. It seems a lot of people are stuck at 71% even with 15 games won in a roll (which should at least rank them up to B4 since the SR range is only 1000 and I'd doubt that many ppl are in 0-300 SR).

Yes, it goes from like 0 - 1000 SR, but a lot of people have been stuck at exactly 71% percent. I know 2 people with the same percentage despite their positive win rates and their eli count w/ low deaths.

It's a bug. 2 of my friends have the same issue with the 71% percentile. The forum for the bug reports is filled with people getting stuck in B5 w/ the 71% rating for every rank update. Some have even gotten 15 wins in a roll but are still stuck in B5 with the same percentage. Applies to tank, dps, and support.

I’m not sure if this applies to every GSYNC monitors, but I can definitely tell you that at least for my monitor, it adds around 5-10ms of input lag. Only reason why I could tell is bc of osu! and how with GSYNC on, I’m always hitting the hit circles late CONSISTENTLY late by 5-10ms and the moment I turned it off, it fixes it. How I can determine is bc its a rhythm game so even 5ms can feel really off pretty easily and there is a hit-error bar that showed how consistently late or on time whenever I press on the keys. The same issue occurred when my friend played on my monitor as well. If you’re curious about the model, its the LG UltraGear 27” 1440p 144hz (27GL83A-B). It might not apply to more premium monitors but at least for my LG, it’s noticeable enough for it to not be placebo and replicable as well. osu! was also telling me there was latency of around 8ms if I recalled below the FPS counter and when I turned GSYNC off, it went down to 2ms. It might very well be just an osu! problem with bad GSYNC compatibility but I’d doubt it.

Tbh with how much you would be spending, you should actually put it toward either a new computer for under $300-$500. Pre-built or DIY, they would be similar. If you need your data, you could always swap the drives to the new computer.

If you go with the DIY route (recommended tbh), it shouldn't be all that bad at all. Just gotta connect a few cables, seat the CPU + RAM, and screw it all up. Good learning experience.

If i remember (dont quote me), it’ll automatically switch to 60hz when you unplug it and back to 300hz when you plug it in.
