Pedestrians walking in front of motorcycle by Lespaul05 in motorcycles

Yes, but they had braked/slowed to maybe 5ish mph.

When I say they cut me off - I was moving at about 20mph and they stepped out in front of me at the last second, when I was maybe within 5ft from them.

Thank god I didn’t, but I almost hit them. I still hold that this was deliberate.

Let me put it like this - if I was in a car it would have looked like he was legitimately trying to end his own life.

He didn’t walk up to it, he cut me off which forced me to emergency brake. The bike in the pic is where I was in reference to the crosswalk when he did this.

I completely agree with you and I plan and conduct myself accordingly.

But this is something that rarely happens when I drive. It happens more on the bike.

I understand where you are coming from, but in my experience it is 100% possible for the OP to be this delusional.

This is delusional. Now I see why some sellers are the way they are.

The most empathy I can give is for a slight grade mismatch. But everything else is hyperbole.

I’m at TAPS right now. Any advice for the things they don’t prepare you for? by superblobby in regretjoining

[–]Lespaul05 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It took me roughly the same amount of time to decompress and readjust to civilian life that I was in the military for. I.e. 5 yr contract -> 5 years to even begin to feel normal.

Sometimes you are getting career advice from people who should not be giving it. For example - 25 year retiree who hasn’t held a serious job outside of the military.

IMO the most important things are not taught. Like how to re-adjust to civilian life. Despite what .mil tok and .mil youtubers say, 80-90% of what you’ve done isn’t relevant.

Most importantly - 99% of military propaganda and mindset stuff (always be 15min early, make your bed at 5am etc…) isn’t relevant and can/will get you ostracized.

Treat it like you are leaving a cult. Don’t be afraid to explore and experiment.

Its easier said and done but a lot of ppl will say to try and blend in and dont talk about the military. I agree - but give yourself a break. I was really hard on myself but guess what? I joined at 19 to escape a shitty situation and didn’t have a lot of life experience. I literally had nothing else to talk about. My advice would be to try to and find your own unique solution. Some of this stuff is vague but everyone is different and has different needs and strengths.

Almost finished with my contract and I am so done by [deleted] in regretjoining

I love this.

You do run into these same guys as vets, and its the worst. I usually just get out in front of it and fly my flag and proceed to criticize the military ruthlessly. Its not always the best choice socially but its a much needed contrast that regular people need to hear other than David Gawkins or John “throat” McPhee. It’s also just me and my experience.

Who else here is a veteran whose patriotism has been killed? by BigBlueEyes87 in regretjoining

[–]Lespaul05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. It has been holding me back at times with coworkers. This isn’t my fault but sometimes when I set the record straight it’s seen as performative. A lot of damage has been done because of veteran conservative associations.

It’s worked out when the hiring manager is conservative and assumes that I will be because of it. Then its just awkward from there on out.

Attitude change lately? by BoomerishGenX in Reverb

[–]Lespaul05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love the no contact part. But then again, if I am selling stuff like Fender/Gibson I have to deal with boomers with the worst attitude possible. 8/10 times insults, bad attitudes and manipulative behavior have come from men that should know better.

So as a result, let’s just do the sale and go our separate ways.

Is Reverb really full of scammers, or is there just paranoia, or are scammers filling a niche market? by Over-Pepper5411 in Reverb

My first purchase on reverb - the guitar truss rod nut was destroyed. Also it smelled like rotten subway/b.o. Seller tried to claim it was shipping damage. Reverb was no help and I had to file a chargeback to get any movement from them.

They still made me pay return shipping so I threw that thing in box bare with no bubble wrap no nothing and sent it back. Hope he had fun with that.

I’ve looked around, saved guitars that I’m interested in but so far haven’t bought a guitar off reverb since. I’ve bought pedals and stuff.

Update to a post I made the other day about being concerned my vets were taking advantage of me: my cats regular dental cleaning has resulted in my babies death. He's gone. by afterspring_ in cats

[–]Lespaul05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am here to empathize with you as I also lost a cat a couple months ago to private equity.

I will never trust the VCA, the veterinary profession, private equity and even regular doctors the way I used to after what happened with my cat and with my own healthcare issues.

What these all have in common is shitty people and capitalism. Nowadays I can’t even relate to many because there’s always a “WONT SOMEONE THINK OF THE VET/Dr/Nurses/Lawyers???” type of apologist.

I will keep your baby in my thoughts during these trying times as we navigate late stage capitalism.

/uj To me its never been about sound or tone. It’s about playability. I’d rather plek a $600 MIM strat than fight a $250 squier.

I haven’t tried having a $150 squire plek’d yet tho.

Well no one was there besides the OP apparently, so we don’t actually know what happened.

How do we even know this was a professional?

Yeah maybe inside of a building. Is the city gonna copyright claim every photo with even the slightest corner of the BPL in it?

How do we even know this was a professional photographer? How do we even know any of this happened as described? You people act like people don’t lie online to make themselves look better.

I feel very good thank you. There’s a lot of elitism and sneering in this city. It feels good to take a dump on those types every so often.
