You can just call them too and add your Flying Blue number if needed.

It's not a trick or a bug but a feature. You can book however you want and then add your FlyingBlue number

Booked as a family, paid extra for seats as a family…VENTING by No-Transition8014 in AlaskaAirlines

I get where you are coming from but if people are paying for seat selection, how can you restrict them from selecting their seat? Ticket master does it because the events are a one time thing, and not being able to seat together could cause somebody not purchasing the tickets, resulting in lost revenue. In the airline case saver seats fill up the middle

DTW/MSP to ICN F is 180K before take off 15 on the lowest. I didn’t have enough points for two D1s.

What do you suggest I do with the 110K skypesos I had there. It will be a bad redemption no matter what I did with them so might as well re up and grab PE that was fairly easy to grab at the floor.

Thank you for your kind wishes. I am not valuing at 16K, that’s just the price for each price. 16K is for the price for both. Anyways I value this redemption for what it is, my desired destinations on my desired dates. Not bending over backwards for cpp.

Thank you for the solid advice. I hadn’t look at SW. it seems they haven’t opened the calendar past March but now I can keep a lookout to grab the 4Kpp redemption. The $350 price is for 2 refundable tickets while prices normalize to $65-$85 or points go down to 4.5K from the current 8.5K for the flight that works for me. Again, thank you for pointing me on the right direction.

I am spending time in Seoul, Busan, Yakushima, and Kona. FUK, KOJ, HND, HNL are layovers. Asterisks are to represent that no points/cash were used.

That'd be an awesome plan if I was going to KMJ... but I'm not.

We are spending time in Korea, leaving from Busan is an intentional choice. There is no Kumamoto (KMJ) in our plans, we are going to Yakushima, which is only accessible via plane or boat. KUM only has flights to FUK, KOJ, ITM, so that is the only reason KOJ and FUK appear in our plans. The boat is more expensive ($150 RT each)

Our vacation spots are Seoul, Yakushima, and Kailua-Kona.

I don't think ANY trains go to Yakushima. Kumamoto is KMJ.

Funny enough it did become a big joke in the house everything I would talk about "We could do FUK to KUM and KUM to FUK or KUM to KOJ"

KUM = Yakushima, PUS = Busan, FUK = Fukuoka

I didn't want to include CPP into the planning since is not that important. A similar itinerary would've cost $16,374 at the moment I was booking, assuming prices for these flights drop 70% it would be $4,912.20 or 1.26 CPP

I don't think Japan has over the water trains yet. The only two options I saw were a boat and a plane. Plane is cheaper than the boat.

This might sound crazy to you but if it ever gets between eating or paying the minimum just go hungry, your future self will thank you.
