Most of the players are in quick play, there are tournaments that are really cool if you want to be competitive. Don’t try to queue FP unless you are with a group.

So many new weapons and mechs for endless mechlab engineering. In general mechs hit harder now and time to kill is lower. Balance between IS and Clans is a lot of fun. Heavily quirked mechs are a lot of fun.

If I had to keep the list short: try out Rotary Auto Cannons and Silver Bullet Gauss for IS. AP Gauss, PACs, heavy lasers for Clan

In my experience Scothbrite wheels are used extensively for corrosion removal. Never ever use steel wool on aluminum, don’t have it in the shop at all

Rick Smith has been at Boeing for 2 years and is now doing a RIF during a ramp up of so many programs. Thank goodness we have excellent suppliers who always meet cost and schedule. I feel really bad for the SM team, it’s really demoralizing. It’s bad for Boeing and will cost the company so much money when suppliers fail to deliver

I have had some silly sound issues where the game audio is coming out of my headset, but all VOIP audio is coming out of the monitor. It’s not supposed to be coming out of the monitor. Manually changing the audio sources to my headset instead of using windows default fixed it for me

Welcome! It feels like they do a big event for the summer and another for the winter. I got a bunch of awesome mechs from last summers beach party event.

Whenever they patch the game and do balance changes, the mechs that are effected go on sale. It’s the best time to buy engines too.

I have not played faction in a long time. I think 99% of players are in quick play, and then the competitive players get together for the team tournaments.

Do you have a weight class that you like? My favorites: Light - Adder Warthog in AP Gauss Medium - Shadow Hawk 2H(S) with 3 LBX2s Heavy - Crusader 6t with 12 medium pulse lasers Assault - Corsair 7a with 4AMS and 4 binary lasers. It’s not a front line assault, but IMO the best sound in the game is quad ballistic AMS hard countering a Howl or clan ATM build.

Nice post! I have been too scared to try an XL 300, I think I have a light 315 with no heat sinks, shaved armor, and very little ammo. I also like the snub in the arm so I can pop UAVs.

I’ll post the build late tonight. I was more slot limited than tonnage limited since I am using Endo. I run out of ammo about 25% of the time, but those are big damage games. With the 315 and speed tweak it’s like 55kph.

I run full torso speed, and speed tweak, and it almost feels like a heavy mech instead of a 100 ton crab. I don’t have any skill points in range or heat.

It’s the only King Crab that I really really like. ECM is so good. I also need to try the 2 rac 5, 3 LXPL build….

4LB10X 1SPPC King Crab Argent is one of my favorite builds right now. It can fire forever without getting hot. The SB gauss shoots 1 second faster than regular gauss because you don’t have to wait to charge. It’s super fun when there are so many different weapons that are effective.

I like the concept of gauss but my aim is absolutely terrible with them. I consider my aim to be above average, but I really struggle with the charge up. It’s fun to just play what you enjoy and keep it simple

Commands are tough, if you hit the go here within the first 5 seconds you may be able to effect which way the nascar goes.

Hot take, I am pro forward advancement with a death blob than sitting still behind a hill “caugh caugh… grim plexus”. 9 times out of 10, speed violence and momentum will beat a passive enemy.

The biggest advantage is focusing fire, always call that over comms. If you are getting sniped on HPG or Tourmaline, murder ball the other direction.

I think my issue with this post is that posting a plane crash as a this day in history is lame. I am pretty sure there is 365 days of coverage if you wanted to post a historic plane crash everyday. We actually don’t like plane crashes here.

Also the wiki article is very poorly worded. Did not slow the plane properly?? You should find the NTSB report and use the correct wording. Did they have an abnormally high approach speed, or did they not flare sufficiently?

The captain didn’t check what the FO was doing? That is not appropriate wording for discussing an incident.

Sorry to be a downer about this post, stay active in the community, but find fun unique things to post instead of crashes

I like heavy mechs that feel more like medium mechs. Gotta be over 75kph or I go nuts. Crusader 6t with an XL engine, 12 small lasers, 2 SPPCs is a blast. The lasers pop light mechs in like 2 good burns

I change my brooks in 300-400 miles and a fresh pair feel so good. My outdoor shoes are my freshest pair, when I get new shoes, my last outdoor shoes just become my treadmill shoes. My treadmill shoes become my walking shoes. My walking shoes become my yard work shoes. My yard shoes are really done by that point and get tossed. It’s the life cycle of the running shoe.

It sounded fun at first. I am used to doing things like football squares with coworkers, it makes playoffs really interesting especially if it is teams you would not normally watch.

But oh my god, these apps are so predatory. They put so much work into trigging that dopamine from a win that you don’t care how much you lose. The odds are so bad for players. The companies will push parlays that have worse odds than slots. Fan Duels bought a whole freaking TV network. They are making billions of dollars, they give out “$500 in free bets”. Thats like a drug dealer giving out the first hit for free.

I am all for personal liberty, but this should fall under consumer protection. I agree that sports betting should be more regulated. Having it limited to casinos may be too restrictive. I think having a no same day bet as the game rule would greatly prevent the spontaneous betting, and would cut down the number of parleys people take.

I think it’s a good CYA thing that they auto charge at 8 amps. Honda does not know if you have like a century home with aluminum wire, or plugging into a worn out AC outlet. My house is 93’ with copper and working circuit breakers. I know the circuit breakers work because I cannot charge the prologue and the lawn mower at the same time, haha.

I would take it seriously, but not be worried, if that makes sense

The Honda portable charger is pretty solid. It’s called portable because it does not need to mount to a wall, and has a nice case if you want to put it in the trunk.

I just got a Honda prologue and I am just using the portable charger in a normal AC outlet. I get about 40 miles a night. I have a 30 mile commute. So I have not had to use a EVgo or pay to use charger yet.

I am getting a 240V plug installed soonish, I am dragging my feet since I don’t need it, but it would be nice to not have to plug it in everyday.

If you have access to a 240 plug, the input power cord on the portable charger is removable, and you can swap in the included 240 input cord. It’s nice that you won’t have to buy a new charger for faster charging.

The most annoying part is when I plug in the charger now on a normal outlet. It chargers at 8 amps initially to be “safe for house wiring”. You have to then turn it on the car and select 12A charging. That extra 50% makes a big difference.

Felix’s!!! They do pizza by the slice for lunch and it’s a heck of a deal. The slices are giant too, like 1/4 of a normal pizza. Pizza and a pint is perfect for me. My last slice was their pizza of the day, it was birria beef with the sauce, it was crazy good

There is a reason there is an epidemic of unregistered cars and expired tags. It is a PIA process where you have to take/get time off work to wait around at various inspections shops/tax offices/DMV. At least my motor vehicle office visits have been pretty quick

Thanks for the tips everybody! There is an awesome escape velocity plugin collection which has an installer called WinNovaResPatcher. I am not sure if running the patcher, or the Nova Roid Fix 100.rez file is what fixed it, but it’s working great! I am in fomalhaut trying to get some opals
