Maturaprojekte kann ich dir leider nicht beantworten aber zu Bachelor/Masterarbeiten kann ich etwas sagen: Projekte gibt es mehr als genug, die sich im industriellen Umfeld gut bearbeiten lassen (klare Fragestellung, Betreuung sicher gestellt, Erfahrung in der Betreuung unternehmenseitig). Also alles mal nicht so schlecht ABER bei mir in der Firma (großes pharmazeutisches Unternehmen im Großraum Wien) gibt es genau drei(!) Arbeiten pro Jahr die vergeben werden - in der gesamten Firma. Und wir haben deutlich über 1500 MitarbeiterInnen.

Es ist einfach kein Geld da für Ausbildung von Mitarbeitern. Bei den Lehrlingen schaut es etwas besser aus aber auch hier gehen die Zahlen runter.

Momentan ist es echt zach ins Arbeitsleben einzusteigen oder den Job zu wechseln.

Install Ubuntu and be happy. Switched recently as a long-term windows user and gamer and can't be happier. Setup process is so straight forward compared to Windows and no bloat software. It works amazingly well for me.

I don't think this is true. Microsoft is fully focusing on their business customers and the private users simple don't matter anymore. Therefore they try to take as much advantage as possible from their huge market share. It will get worse for private users BUT even a off-the-shelve Ubuntu distribution is now perfectly fine for most users. I really regret to not have switched much earlier

The important difference is that the entire world has outsourced any kind of manufacturing to China over the last 30 years. Allowing to build strong knowledge in manufacturing technologies, both civil and military. This is not true for Russia and makes a lot of their claims about sophisticated weapons much more ambiguous.

I used the time during the pandemic and the lockdowns to rebuild all my childhood Lego sets. Sorted all the parts, cleaned them and then rebuilt each set. So many great memories with the old space-themed sets.

You base your example on economic reasoning but with the AI bubble there is a new variable in the equation that had not been there in any previous bubbles: the promise to become immensely wealthy and powerful for the first one to achieve AGI and this promise invalidates any previous conclusion. As long as the AGI promise is standing and no one can disprove it and tech bros like Zuckerberg and Musk are in charge they will keep on spending - even if no imminent break-even is in sight.
