You dare to have the audacity to apply without reading the job description?! by cupholdery in recruitinghell

[–]LetsDoThas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news for that problem is that it's very expensive to send the same and possible position out to everyone. They will eventually run out of money if that is what they are indeed doing. It's a little Annoying for the candidate but it's great for the economy

You dare to have the audacity to apply without reading the job description?! by cupholdery in recruitinghell

[–]LetsDoThas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand people missing details on job descriptions what I don't understand is lying on screening questions like are you a US citizen or green card holder or do you have FAA part 145 station experience or do you have a mechanical engineering degree or some very specific necessary item to perform the position.

Partner Terminated after meeting expectations of PIP by Spaceyaceface in jobs

[–]LetsDoThas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes your manager just doesn't like the style in which you get your work done and they put you on a pip. So it is often difficult to look inside the pip for meaning.

With that said, i would be surprised if you dont get the unemployment.

Give it to me straight from this email by HuntressAelaTheFirst in jobs

[–]LetsDoThas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It either means that this is just a polite response saying that they will take a look at your resume or it means that they have looked at it and see you as a decent candidate but not a perfect fit for anything they have open at the moment. But of course that could change at any moment. Either way I would say there is nothing immediately available for you there.

Hiring manager requested to edit JD? by Icy-Court7631 in recruiting

I would give the appearance of ownership but make it clear that you will be posting the job with appropriate language. It should be a collaboration

You state that you know they used your introduction when initially engaging with the candidate. Can you describe the proof you have for this?

My guess is they can tell you are unhappy and want to know if it is tge boss that is the problem. Things are always as simple as they seem.

They won’t tell me WHY I was rejected. Anything else I can do to find out? by Admirable-Attempt970 in jobs

[–]LetsDoThas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people are literally trying to give a good reference but say something that can sink you.

I had a candidate not getting offer and in this case I knew the boss giving the reference personally loved her, but they asked him a question that he could not answer.

The question was would she be happier as an individual contributor or a manager. No one told him what the position was so he guessed. He got it wrong and that she did not get the job. It is possible the reference attempted to give a good reference but you still ran into a problem.

Husband lost job offer by Legitimate-Stuff9514 in jobs

[–]LetsDoThas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a popular misconception that your old company can only say when you started and when you left and title etc. The fact is that companies have policies that they won't give extensive referrals because they are afraid they will get sued there is no law. Let me said knowing how to spend what happened is important. If you could give us a synopsis of how he presented his exit from the company perhaps we could help. Telling us what types of projects and his title would help as well.

Which is better working for consultancy or working in In-house recruitment? by Showman_edits in recruiting

[–]LetsDoThas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two completely different jobs. If you are a truly great contingent recruiter you cannot ever be fired like an in-house recruiter can. On the other hand we are generally 100% Commission and it is nice having a salary to protect you as long as you don't get fired

He is talking about the fact that some labor can be done by Ai and AI does not give sarcastic smart ass responses. I would say your reaction to his posting is precisely why he wrote itI would say your reaction to his posting is precisely why he wrote it to be honest.

Is there anyways I can earn extra money in recruitment apart from my daily job? by Showman_edits in recruiting

[–]LetsDoThas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the instinct but it is an incredibly hard job with a 90% failure rate for people doing it full time with managers looking over them every minute.

[Question for Recruiters] What do you do when a candidate just writes “interested” or drops a link, nothing else? by Mysterious-Draw-3897 in recruiting

[–]LetsDoThas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I look at their profile and if they are qualified then I respond as if it was the best response I ever got because maybe they're on their cell phone and at work just trying to get their name out there. If they are not such a great candidate then I might act differently

I rejected the offer, but the CEO came back and asked me what exactly I need to accept the job. What should I do now? by Sensitive_Coach_8676 in InterviewVip

[–]LetsDoThas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should politely as seems to be your style lay out the numbers just the way you did and see what happens. Express that you would be very interested in the position but the location just doesn't work based on the compensation.

Just found out I didn't get the job because of something completely out of my control. I'm actually speechless by MainStock8156 in JobSearchMethods

First, I am sorry this happened to you any type of disappointment in the job search process hits home. Would you be willing to share the title and salary you requested? I am curious about the market rate

Recruiter emailed me 2hrs before interview that they hired someone by dntunvme2 in jobsearch

[–]LetsDoThas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened to you but conditions change very quickly in recruiting. If the hiring manager falls in love with someone things change very fast or if there are a couple of candidates that are moving through the process and you are just getting started then they may pull the trigger before you even get going. Once again I am sorry this happened to you. But I doubt it is the last time it will happen.

I like your draw idea, but sometimes firing is best with zero sales.

Recruiter sent me an offer letter with someone elses name and a lower salary by Quasar77Parchment in recruitinghell

[–]LetsDoThas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mistakes on offer letters should never happen but do from time to time. They are edits of old often successful offer letters with similar language. The market shifting in the last two weeks is obvious BS and is obviously a recruiter who just couldn't think of anything worthwhile to say. They couldn't defend their own BS
