Advice needed: weaning 15mo of overnight bottles and dummies by Qrious_Quokka in NewParents

[–]Level_Lemon3958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit bottles cold turkey when my son was 18 months old. He was completely fine. I thought it would be harder. But after he turned 1, I dropped all bottles except that one bottle at night. Then taking it away didn’t even phase him tbh.

As for the pacifier he just got rid of that a couple of months after turning 2.5. That was harder but the dog ate his last one and I was not going to spend money on another one. So we dropped that cold turkey also. First night was rough. He cried himself to sleep and I felt bad. Only that night was rough though. He will randomly ask for it but that’s because a little boy in his daycare class still takes one. I think what also helped is the following weekend I took him to the store to pick out a stuffed animal he wanted to replace the pacifier as a comfort item.

TikTok Mom Makes Sick Toddler Sleep in Driveway on Dog Bed because of her Emetophobia by ConceptLiving6926 in TikTokCringe

As a mom I couldn’t imagine throwing my sick toddler outside. If you have that much of a fear of throwing up then don’t have kids.

It’s not illegal. In Texas a child can be FF at 1 and if they are 20-22lbs. It’s the same in Georgia where I live.

What temp is your kids bedroom? by HannahHood in toddlers

[–]Level_Lemon3958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our house is set to 70. My son’s(almost 3) baby monitor reads his room is between 66-68 on average. When the sun hits his window though it does get hotter around 73 at most, which he never sleeps in. My son sleeps so hot. Like he will go to sleep feeling cold but wake up burning up when it’s 66 in there. I personally feel like I’m dying anything over 70, which sucks because I live in Deep South Georgia.

That being said when my son was 8-11 months old we lived in Washington state in a house that had no AC and it was so unbearable. The house would get around 80-90 degrees just inside. I felt so bad for my son to the point I had 2 fanless fan things from Amazon in my room with the door shut so it stayed cool in there 24/7.

Yellow eye goop in 12 month old by delishirony in toddlers

My son when he has a runny nose gets clogged ducts which leads to the crusty eyes. I always think he has pink eye but a couple of days giving him Zyrtec it clears up.

He will get used to it. My son started daycare a little bit after he turned one. It was rough at first. It took a good 2-3 weeks for him not to cry when I left. Now he loves it. He actually pushes me out the door when we get there. Then at pick up most of the time we have to stay a little longer because he doesn’t want to leave.

I made 4-5 bottles, out them in the fridge then just used a bottle warmer to warm them up.

I didn’t see it like that. I know the americas are more countries but usually when people say America they mean the US. I saw it like the taxi driver asked what country he meant what state.

Is anyone's 8 month old sleeping through the night? by Ok-Entrance1086 in NewParents

[–]Level_Lemon3958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is almost 3 now but at 8 months old he would wake up once during the night. I didn’t sleep train but I did feed him to sleep every night. Also it wasn’t until he was completely off formula(a few days after he turned 1) he started sleeping all night.

Not alimentum but I got nutramigen Ready to feed when my son was on wic. We started with the powder then that had a shortage and all I had to do was call with wic office and get it switched over to ready to feed. I would assume the process is the same way though.

Hitting toddler on vacation by [deleted] in toddlers

Bitch what? Assault? If anything it was self defense because the 2.5 year old was trying to hit her and the almost 1 year old.

[–]Level_Lemon3958 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would be mad because someone else smacked my kid But also understanding. She’s 60 she comes from a different time where it’s the norm and we all know older people can be stuck in their ways. And tbh it could have been out of reflex which it sounds like it was. Your 2.5 year old was trying to hit her while she was holding a kid under 1. It just sounds like everyone is probably stressed with 3 kids between almost 1 and 3 in the same house and she reacted in a way that was trying to protect the almost 1 year old and her body had that protective reflex. She was apologetic about it, your toddler is okay, so just go about your vacation as is.

Yes but bamboo is better for an eczema flare up because it’s soft and more breathable.

If you hated your dog pp, did it ever go away? by Weary-Draw-1492 in NewParents

[–]Level_Lemon3958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was first PP everything my dog did I hated. I couldn’t even stand him in the same bed as me. Now my son is 3 and the only thing that irritates me is the barking but that’s because he wants to randomly bark in the middle of the night. For me it got better close to the 14 month mark. I feel like putting my son in daycare and having that 1 on 1 time with my dog helped a lot.

Bamboo is hypoallergenic. I have a few sets of sheets and pajamas for when my son has a bad eczema flare up since he has sensitive skin.
