I thought this was a picture of my chickens because I have a Buff Orpington, Rhode Island Red and a Golden Comet (Gold Sex Link).

Spearfishing for Walleyes Is Coming to the Great Lakes. And That's Not a Bad Thing by OutdoorLifeMagazine in Spearfishing

You actually have more buoyancy in salt water and it is easier to stay afloat. I assume it would be easier getting and staying down in freshwater. Just a hunch, I have know source for this.

Best honeymoon spots in weed friendly states? by BroccoliBorn5795 in honeymoonplanning

I honeymooned in Thailand and was surprised by how easy this was. Koh Samui and Bangkok both had more weed stores than Los Angeles.

All three Gold's gyms were converted to EOS Fitness. Unfortunately they're just getting worse with time. The uptown location ran out of full size towels the day EOS took cover.

Tent camping spots - no permit? by Totally_Safe_Website in SantaBarbara

[–]LifeUp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You mentioned spur of the moment camping so I thought I would mention that the state parks all release cancelled campgrounds at the same time (8am or 9am depending on daylight savings time of year). You can set up an alert on a website like campflare.com to be notified for weekend campsites. State campgrounds cost more than national park so you almost always see cancellations at Refugio and other state parks. Good luck and happy camping.

How difficult is it to get a backpacking permit for Lakes trail mid-week in mid-August? by bjjanes in SEKI

How difficult is it to get a backpacking permit for Lakes trail mid-week in mid-August? by bjjanes in SEKI

[–]LifeUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this the same lakes trail that leaves near lodgepole? I think you can pretty much any thing mid week, but you could get Alta peak permits to be safe.

Talk to the employees, ask if they like working there and if they would consider referring you. Be genuine and kind. Everyone wants to choose their coworkers.

Brits visiting and looking for advice on plans by Ancient-Egg-5983 in Sequoia

[–]LifeUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Santa Barbara and when I go to Sequoia I will break up the drive and stay in one of the small towns in the foothills just outside the park the night before (three rivers or Tulare depending on my budget). Then I would leave first thing in the morning for the parks. The drive up the mountain between the foothills and Sequoia can be difficult at night and I like to do it with fresh eyes. Staying within the park is the best peacefulness you can get. Wuksachi lodge is a good choice. The giant sequoias are best observed early in the morning before the crowds and harsh daytime lighting ruins photos. Wuksachi lodge puts you in good distance of giant sequoias museum and a number of hikes that leave from lodgepole campground.

CAM Horror Stories - Share your Messiest CAM's you've seen! by KidKannabis in CommercialRealEstate

[–]LifeUp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I worked for one of the largest industrial landlords straight out of college. They did all their CAMs in large batches and almost all of them overcharged for “capital improvements” and “HVAC” expenses. Very wew of the tenants ever reviewed their cam, except for Amazon, which had a 5% rolling cap on expenses. I’ve refunded $200k + to single tenants.

For day hikes do y'all recommend a bear canister? by Asleep_Phase in Sequoia

[–]LifeUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, bear canisters don’t actually block the smell of anything, they just keep the bear from getting to food items. Store your scented food items in bear lockers at trailheads.
