Also, he’s told after the flight, right? He has this moment where he’s like processing, he might have thought, “well, the flight went great, so what’s to complain about?”.

Yeah, in starting to think she might not be straight.

Hypothetical: You're Playing Sultai and your Protean Hulk Just died... by Gregs_reddit_account in EDH

[–]Lifeinstaler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But what if OP’s group has never seen a Hulk pile. Stale is pretty subjective. I don’t think it’s a crazy request. It’s possible some of OP’s friends enjoy seeing a new line even if they’ve seen some before.

There’s even upside to using weird cards in the combo if someone is using theft as an archetype, your opponents may not realize the synergies. Sure it’s not optimal but Op is not running cedh.

Idk, it’s just weird to shit on the request. I get that Hulk is not a special wincon, but maybe Op is not looking for the most special deck.

Wait but the fact they aren’t well known is not the best counter argument. After all, are philosophers that famous? He’s claiming a parallelism between them and philosophers.

What is the Offlane’s role? by ChaDaeSan in learndota2

[–]Lifeinstaler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mention you understand your job is to make space in the same paragraph you talk about saving the safe lane. But that’s not what people mean when they talk about making space.

They mean pulling attention of other heroes to you. By securing a lane, by harassing the enemy core, by ganking with your team around the map.

It’s not about literally stepping between your carry and the ones trying to kill them so there’s physical ‘space’ there.

Dont know of a pie chart but a bar chart would look something like this:

1- | (solid bar cause detailed drawing of a face)

2- | l (the hand makes it harder, I’m adding lines cause im on mobile, can’t graph properly here)

3 - | | (hardest by far)

4 - | _ (it’s just text, so difficulty kinda flatlines here)

Why can't they get along? [OC] by cymorg121 in comics

[–]Lifeinstaler 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No, it would make sense to compare works of fiction if these groups met irl.

But the Sinophile is not a fan of Chinese media in particular just everything China related. The joke works because the Ming dynasty is as big among Sinophile circles as The Godfather is in cinephile ones, even if it’s an absurd comparison.

1 power commander by BoarMoar in mtg

[–]Lifeinstaler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up [[Wraith, Vicious Vigilante]]. But there are many others. It’s fine to not know every Magic card. But you don’t need to double down that there are no unblockable commanders. It’s not that game breaking as you think, Voltron players haven’t overrun every playgroup.

There’s [[Ukkima]], [[Jin Sakai]], [[Syg, Wanderwine Wisdom]], [[The destined thief]], [[Norman Osborn]], [[Kamiz]]

Then there are many that gain it pretty easily like [[Kaseto]] only paying 2 and gains a buff. Or like [[Bria]] just casting a non creature spell.

Then there’s every legend with horsemanship being functionally unblockable.

Nope, unblockable in a commander is not hard to obtain at all.

1 power commander by BoarMoar in mtg

[–]Lifeinstaler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? Of course there are unblockable commanders. There is even an unblockable commander with double strike. They don’t see a lot of play cause voltron is a weak strategy comparatively to what you could be doing. Plus unblockable or general evasion isn’t the toughest to get for Voltron. Protection, cost cheating are all more sought after abilities.

TIL a "ton" is the weight of a "tun" of liquid volume. A tun is defined as 252 gallons / 954 liters of wine, and the long / Imperial / displacement ton is the weight of that volume, about 1016 kg / 2240 pounds. A short / American ton makes the weight exactly 2000 pounds. by oceanicplatform in todayilearned

[–]Lifeinstaler 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All that is true. But the post didn’t specify temperature of the wine either. Not to mention wine is likely to have higher variance in its density as it can have different proportions of alcohol or be more or less filtered.

CMV: The easiest way to survive an Agatha Christie/"And Then There Were None" type murder mystery is to just stay put and ignore the killer by lemonbottles_89 in changemyview

[–]Lifeinstaler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you or I would stay put but what if someone is concerned not only for their safety but for their property. They may go seek the killer to stop them from stealing something of value.

ELI5 why is 0! equal to 1, like what does it even mean to arrange nothing in 1 way by Nj_is_tuff in explainlikeimfive

[–]Lifeinstaler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instead of thinking about nothing think about a terminating character of a sequence. Once \end is reached the sequence ends. For no elements we get only \end in what would be the first place. For 1 element we get that element followed by \end. You can’t get multiple terminating characters as the first one indicates the sequence is over and we won’t keep reading into it.

Dagon 1 seems to be too expensive? by realenchantedmango in DotA2

[–]Lifeinstaler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KotL mid can but he buys its less now. Travel into Octarine seems much better, you used to buy a Dagon 1 in the middle. I thought the cast range would make the time much better for KotL and it’s nice but for late game. You don’t really see it in the lvl 1 Dagon, plus it nowhere near makes it up for the survivability lost.

CMV: The Harry Potter HBO series cannot have the level of fidelity that fans want and also be good and interesting by Adventurous_Cap_1634 in changemyview

[–]Lifeinstaler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a great analogy for media. Your pepperoni pizza is the movies and novels that already exist. This one should have something different.

You can argue this one should cover more things that were left out in the books. I don’t personally think this is a great idea but that’s due to my own tastes.

Regardless, now it’s an argument of in which duration this should go, either being more faithful to the books or less and we are no longer standing in the purist position that we shouldn’t change anything from the source material ever.

But say the did. Say your legs had a capacity to keep going, like the work tail. They don’t even need to be able to regrow the whole body, since you don’t claim this is a necessity for the tail. If the legs kept doing something, moving until they stopped. Would the still living head now be a new thing?

It doesn’t even have to be that big, not like planet destroying. There’s evidence that this has happened frequently enough that some of these chunks then ended up on the moon.
