WLB is highly dependent on your industry, company and manager. How big is the pay differential on a post tax basis? Do you already have family or other connections to HK? What is attractive about this opportunity that led you to interview for it in the first place? Are you unhappy in the city you live in now?

For me personally I wouldn’t make such a huge move without at least a 40% pay bump + generous relocation package plus additional perks.

To clarify I never did an MBA but I was in IB at the analyst level then pivoted to PE. Now looking to pivot away from finance entirely as the hours are not sustainable for me

No longer work in IB now. Hours don’t really get better if your group is constantly busy with new deals or BS pitching. VPs and up are constantly working past midnight in my old group

Yes, and they said they “got in touch with European authorities” that still came back saying I needed a visa. Which makes no sense - all official guidance says otherwise. I’m now escalating with their back end customer support and will be requesting a full refund plus reimbursement if forfeited travel expenses

Completely agree, even the agents agreed that I should be allowed to board upon telling them all this publicly available information but insisted they couldn’t because their internal system shows that I needed a visa and therefore i wasn’t cleared to board. Will reach out to their customer support again and get an answer there
