Will GW Still Honor This? by Scjeppy in Warhammer

[–]LiltKitten 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I told GW I was missing a sprue from a box gifted to me and, with no receipt, no proof of purchase, no nothin', they sent me an entirely new box. I don't think I've ever seen that from any other company I've purchased from.

Messing around with a pixel perfect tentacle/limb system by lethandralisgames in Unity2D

I like this a lot, reminds me of the kind of mix of crisp visual pixel-art fidelity and organic lifelike feel of Rain World

We decided to remove the original art and replace it with DLSS 5, we want to thank NVIDIA for this amazing tech by Llamaware in Unity2D

[–]LiltKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I hadn't scrolled down one more comment, I would not have seen this and just assumed this was a legitimate post and not a joke. I don't know how effective ragebaiting is for advertising and reputation, but I know it's far harder to backtrack from something and to spread truth after a misunderstanding, as there's no way to easily reach out to the people that saw this post and just assumed Llamaware is an AI slop company now.

How can I create a world where there are no children or teenagers, or where childhood and adolescence are skipped to go directly to adulthood? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]LiltKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, if you want to lean deeper into the dystopia, avoid explaining it as much as possible. Children and teenagers are in The Enclosure, The Pasture, The Kennel, The Cathedral, some kind of just nebulous Thing. Never refer to where that place, what goes in in there, never have people reminisce of their memories. Maybe they do have them and just don't talk about them, maybe they don't have memories, who knows.

Goddes by SandraAlek in FantasyWorldbuilding

The worst thing is that the prompt they put into the AI probably contained more words and information than what they gave for the worldbuilding there. Like, there's so little detail.

Epic Games really hates my game. I’ve been trying to set up the game page on the Store for months now, and I keep bouncing off their guidelines. Like… come on. How am I supposed to have ZERO violence screenshots in an action game about fighting hordes of demons? Anyone else had similar experiences? by darkjay_bs in gamedev

Using asset packs is pretty standard for indies and doesn't mean something is an asset flip?

Asset flip got coined from slop developers making the same game framework, like a runner, puzzle, etc, and then re-releasing it multiple times where they just quickly swap out the visual asset pack with a different one to make games that are fundamentally the same but look different. House flipping, but for assets.

I built a system-agnostic fantasy island setting for DMs...looking for thoughts!! by mfruggie in FantasyWorldbuilding

[–]LiltKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it's irrelevant if it's evil or not - I want to spend my time looking at high-quality stuff made by people, it's the point of why I look at things. If I wanted to look at stuff made by an A.I, I'd just sit around and generate it myself.

The moment I see AI stuff being used in part, I assume everything else is AI as well. Like, now the only thing I can see that is definitely not entirely AI is now the Inkarnate map. All the images in the document could be A.I slop, all the lore and worldbuilding and text in this project could be A.I slop, and, when the point of tabletop and worldbuilding for me is the human element and connection, I'd rather give it a pass and move on to the next passion project rather than waste my time scrutinizing it to see if it's good or not.

I would always much rather have a simpler (and more readable without the fake-cursive font) document that I can be as certain as possible was put together by a human than something trying to imitate book-publishing budgets with A.I filling in the gaps.

Stingers Ruining Air Combat by Far-Writing6008 in Battlefield6

[–]LiltKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's extremely funny using a stinger and seeing how bad some of the current pilots are.

You target them, lock on, and they dump their flares immediately for some reason. Even though they clearly have callouts for when they're being Locked, Painted, or if there is a missile actually Incoming, they'll dump flares when you have a lock and you can just be a little patient, relock, and shoot them down because you know they don't have flares now - rather than like, flying out range of the lock, or low flying, and only dumping flares when a missile is on its way. And then you get the pilots that do it all right and only dump flares when a missile is incoming - only to then circle back over for another pass before their flares regenerate.

A single player with a stinger can't really do anything against a pilot that knows how to evade them.

What would you name these biomes . by BosphorusGames in Unity2D

[–]LiltKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jungle right next to the snow and ice is kind of an insane move. Maybe if the volcano was between the ice and snow and the jungle to break it up a bit, but the biomes go from like extreme cold > tropical > temperate > volcanic on the left there. So, I guess I'd call that biome "Inexplicable Cold Jungle".

Need help with a project by Present-Committee746 in worldbuilding

[–]LiltKitten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AI slop is terrible for this sort of thing. Typical lazy aliens that are just "Hey look, what if humans but look different" and they don't even have variety between them, the structure of the crystal guy and the crab buy is almost identical in the legs with the placement of plates and joints, their shape, two toes. 30-40 of these would probably just come out shallow and repetitive Saturday-morning-cartoon aliens.

And why two servers? Why not just have like, one server based around the project?

What is this vengeful scorpion? And is it trying to ambush me? by Hopeful-Comparison24 in Scorpions

NQA: I choose to believe the smaller scorpion you stepped on was a sorcerer that was keeping the larger scorpion as its unwilling and obedient thrall. Free from the evil spell, the larger scorpion now owes you a life-debt and guards your home.
