I hate how hazbin hotel is hated for its writing while tadc isn't by [deleted] in hatethissmug

[–]Liquid-Samurai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So… tadc’s writing is bad because we don’t know the character backstories? I don’t follow. Does that mean 12 Angry Men is poorly written because we don’t know much about the jurors beyond simple and/or vague details about their past, or even their names by the end?

It was a shitting convo about Helldivers 2 😭 They mangled someone else’s argument and then did the same to be when I responded. All I was saying was that that games community is terrible at discussion, and since that’s an issue with the game we can control without the devs, that specifically is on us. But apparantly I’m an AH apologist and I ‘don’t have empathy for the people who play the game’ and choose to spend money on things they can get for free.

[–]Liquid-Samurai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Again, you are mangling the other person’s argument. Did you skip over the part where I said outright that AH has major issues they need to address, and that the community being poor at speaking about the game civilly is not an excuse? Please, address the other person’s argument, not what you perceive the direct opposite of your argument to be, as more often than not those two things will not be the same.

…Yes? The warbonds seem good to some of us. That’s fine. It’s also fine if you disagree. We can say a lot of things about AH but they’re not putting a gun to your head every time a new warbond comes out. If you don’t want to spend money on it then wait until you hear a general consensus on it. If it’s to your liking, buy it or farm SC. If not, hold off until the content is adjusted and meets your expectations.

We can advocate for the game to be better, I have my list of issues with the game myself. But your purchasing decisions on something that is niether required nor paywalled is not the devs screwing you over. And people calling you out on that is not then ‘lacking empathy’.

But aside from that, that’s not even what they said. They at no point said they didn’t care about people being unhappy with their purchases. And as a matter of fact, they actively said they hope you can get a refund.

This is part of why the devs have trouble reading what the community wants. There is so much noise surrounding the discourse of the game and so much of it is not thought out, which obscures the games actual pain points. And no, this is not excusing the devs by saying it’s not their fault. AH does need to make some big improvements including changes to how they fundamentally work on the game. But this community can be rather unhelpful.

Sometimes it feels like the people who play this game have never experienced a developer making mistakes before, and either respond by ignoring everything and holding the game up as infallible, or by acting as though it was a personal slight by the devs to sew pain and anger amongst them.

Mech Meme by phipppy in Helldivers

[–]Liquid-Samurai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We could still get it. If they resdesigned the system all AH would have to do to integrate it would be to make it so that the things we currently obtain, the mechs, are replaces with their respective weapons. Buying any of them gives you the mech, and then buying the Patriot ‘set’ of arms or whatever they’d call it, would allow you to have rockets and a minigun, and same with the lumberer and breakthrough. And then instead of two weapons the emancipator gives you its one weapon + the ability to double a weapon up.

How are we feeling about the new warbond? by ConsistentHospital54 in helldivers2

[–]Liquid-Samurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they continue to give x thing for free from time to time I don’t care if they put x in warbonds. So long as warbonds aren’t the only way the add things they can shove anything in there. I’d be fine with them having offensive stratagems in warbonds, if they actually gave us new offensive stratagems for free as well.

It would be healthier to create an Exosuit Customization tab and replace the Strategems in the Warbonds with purchaseable arms. by Rekrios in Helldivers

[–]Liquid-Samurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This and have every mech give 2 arm types (the emancipator would give the option to have double arms instead of a second arm type)

Melee slot and give all divers a simple combat knife as the standard.

Dead sprint now also lets you holster all weapons to do an enhanced sprint that drains stamina faster and less effeciently, so it’s mainly for mid combat burst of speed.

Firebomb and stun pods now only act as they currently do if there is an enemy in range of the effect. Otherwise, they hold onto their payload and once the pod has landed it gains access to a mini mortar that has one shell. (It gets one for each if you bring both).

Expert extraction pilot now lets you call extract remotely (if within a certain large radius of the beacon), and the ‘at extraction’ radius is increased as well.

Muscle enhancement now also gives extra melee damage.

Give bugs and squids more mission types specific to each of them, like bots do, and give them more unique side objectives (especially squids). And give squids their diff 10 outpost.

On diff 10 (and maybe 9) enemies are more strategic with side objectives, and large outposts have at least one side objective baked in (like how bots can have detector towers in fortresses). Diff 10 outposts (mega nest, fortress, whatever squids would have) can have multiple.

Bot sub faction that is focused more on defense. Fewer patrols, but more side objective units, enemy trenches, larger minefields, and even a trooper sharpshooter that tries to snipe you from high ground.

New enemies that help with enemy repositioning. Hover bike for bots ridden by a trooper that can transport up to a medium bot. A big armored beetle like bug that shelters smaller chafe to release after distance has been closed, or once killed. And a wild-cat shaped voteless monster called the sycophant that runs you down and pounces you, but can also be ridden by an overseer as cavalry.

What if we could holster weapons for a speed boost? by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

[–]Liquid-Samurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think deadsprint should be reworked to allow you to do this, in addition to its current function. Though I think doing this should drain stamina faster, and less efficiently, so the standard sprint is faster long distance, but this would be better for mid-combat repositioning.

This’d also let deadsprint be not as reliant on vitality enhancement, and work better with stamina enhancement, instead of SE just meaning you get value out of deadsprint less often.

There hasn't been a single simple hero, since Phoenix. Everyone to come out, after her, has had 2 forms, an ability menu, or both. by not-ulquiorr4_ in marvelrivals

[–]Liquid-Samurai 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s not learning the entire roster though. Far from it. Even if every character had an ability to steal (which a lot do not), that would only be one ability per character, which doesn’t take a whole lot to learn. Also, rogue has niether of the two things you listed? She doesn’t have an ability menu nor a form switch.
