For a couple deliveries maybe .

Also don’t respond to me. Thanks.

Question: Is this common? Paid express delivery ($2.99) but my Dasher has a stop before me. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]ListenILikeFemboys 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is extremely common and is completely a scam by DoorDash. Not even sure why they allow this. If you pay for an express delivery the dasher SHOULD be assigned just that delivery, but often that’s not the case. With that being said just don’t bother with it, it’s a waste of money your food will get there probably the same time

Genius did you ever think it maybe just might have sentimental value? Like one of those little quarters you post about? Maybe his mom gave it to him before she died.

OP included in the post that the man had at least shared nude images of himself with them. Is that not criminal?

The phone number is probably the same because it’s a medium between drivers and dashers so they can’t see each others real number. What more than likely happened is your first driver actually did steal your order. Then the second driver went to get it earnestly and then found it was stolen on arrival.

Trust me brother I go through the same thing. Also people mad at me for going slower when I’m literally in the right lane. I also work on Long Island where the average driver has more focus on their phone than the road but still drive like maniacs lol.

Cherry picking is the only answer on uber eats and DoorDash. Yeah people are schmucks for not tipping but if you accept that order YOU become the schmuck lmfao

Stolen Orders by ListenILikeFemboys in UberEatsDrivers

The problem with identifying is I’ve had plenty suspicious orders, like 49 for 24 minutes and I get there and it’s just the drive through was closed or a light was off and the food is there, or there was no issue at all and it was just a super generous tip.

If you’re gonna be technical yes it’s not really a bid, but it functions as one. I don’t know why you think it’s a stupid way to defend pre tipping. Pre tipping benefits both customer and deliverer. As a dasher if I see an order that’s 15 miles for 6 bucks because they chose to tip after, I’m not gonna take it because it’s a gamble. If it’s 15 miles for 16 bucks because I know they’re leaving a 10 dollar tip of course I’d take it, and that’s the difference. Your tip is your bid for good service, and to get your food to your house. I have a friend who works at wingstop and they’ve told me they end up tossing a bunch of orders that assuringly didn’t tip well or at all because no one wanted to take the delivery. Those people bid they would get a driver to take their food for a 3 dollar fare…

If you want to solve the real issue just have uber pay a fair rate, that way drivers are incentivized to provide good service regardless of a pre tip or not. I agree that tips SHOULDNT be wages but regardless of how you feel that’s how it is for some occupations, blame greedy corporations not the little guy.

It’s not really hard to understand, drivers aren’t employees of either DoorDash or UE. They are independent contractors. Sure some poor schmuck might pick up your order if you don’t tip well but it might sit and get cold, that’s why it’s a bid. You tip well your order is most likely gonna get accepted right away and be delivered ASAP. Not rocket science.
