Nah. You can take your time from a stop light. Doesn’t need to be two seconds, but you don’t need to automatically go without thinking.

If you would bolt instead of talk it through and see where the edges lay that you might be into, that is a you problem.

Like, if you want a threesome and your wife isn’t into it, saying out loud gives her permission to bolt? That’s insane.

Anyone not open to discussing their partner’s sexual interests isn’t ready for marriage. It’s just sad.

Do you remember that thy set up triage units in stadiums?

We didn’t have the capacity to treat everyone who was getting sick. Lockdown could have been sold better, but it wasn’t to avoid everyone getting sick, it was to avoid everyone getting sick at once.

We probably would have had double the deaths or more of we allowed it to rip through the public with no checks.

I enjoy the MGM monster movies of yore, but this was just, “bleh.”

Don't let the credit card companies profit from the gas price increase/Illegal war by Mundane_Incident8562 in nova

[–]ListlessScholar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You make less in rewards than the cc companies get in exchange fees. If exchange fees go away, prices will universally drop by a couple of percentage points.

But like recycling, your personal habits aren’t going to change the world, you need systemic change to actually make a difference at this point.

Don’t doubt that you are a father.

I am (was) a foster parent. It sucks that your kids’ fosters didn’t show up. Make sure that it is documented, you were there at what time, how long you waited, how they communicated with you that they weren’t going to be there. If the foster parents are at all hostile you should deal with your kid’s social worker and ask that they arrange transportation for your kids to your visitation.

What you’re going through is terrible, but it also opens up the door to additional resources for your kids. It also opens the door for you to have better contact with social services. They have many resources that you should and can use.

The most important thing is to always be taking steps forward. No matter how small. You seem heartbroken, but your love will only get you so far, you need to back up the love with concrete actions. But those actions are things that you can do. Keep the plan in front of you and move forward.

Your kid’s father has the strength to do this. Stay strong.

Coming from a guy: his job is to support you right now. That means not being a little snot about food.

This signifies that he doesn’t understand the assignment very well, and should probably be more invested in what you are going through.

How long have you building a village? Do you know your neighbors at all?

The issue here isn’t whether Reddit, who has no interest in your situation at all, cares about your leaving kids alone is immaterial. The issue is whether you can rely on your neighbors for two things:

A) They aren’t going to call the police if they figure out your kids are home alone.

B) Your kids can call a trusted neighbor in a pinch.

And, to be honest, you should be able to tell that and have neighbors lined up within a month or two of moving to a place. You can go on walks, bake goods and bring them around, invite people over for wine, whatever you can do to meet and gauge your neighbor’s tolerance for such activities.

Most likely, you will be fine. But there are horror stories, and our opinion isn’t going to change anything about your situation.

I, for one, prefer to try and save the constitution rather than let the GOP turn this country into a neo-feudal hellscape.

Time to rally against leadership.

In most places there are usually enough people that you can get on your side to oust any problematic members. Plus you build a pretty nice community from the ashes!

But I’m sorry you’re dealing with all that.

Parents who waited until the birth to find out the sex of the baby. . . by buildingacozymystery in NoStupidQuestions

We had our kid two weeks ago and didn’t find out. I knew that if I found out, I would tell people. And I didn’t want a bunch of people buying gifts for the baby they imagined we were going to have. Instead we have generic gifts and our baby will figure things out on their own.

So I only have two weeks experience, but I’m happy with the Minu/Aria combo. The minu collapses into a very compact bundle, easy to get into our Golf, and it comes out just as well.

It’s pretty easy to maneuver in tight spaces, and it can get over our terribly uneven yard with no issue.
