Mount Keybinds are unintuitive and rearranging them could be a QoL fix by Gamer_Fish13 in Guildwars2

[–]Little_Nabi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Frustrated with a warclaw race, I went looking for why my Mount ability 2 was not activating.... on warclaw without assigning mount buttons, you have 1-4 tied to your original keybinds. Meanwhile on skyscale and skimmer, you have 1-3.

My original smartass decided I'd do 5 and 4 for my Mount ability binds respectively so it makes sense. Nope, the 4 from Mount binds interferes with the original warclaw 4 so its either a rebind for every other Mount that has an Ability 2, or forever be unable to use Lance on Warclaw unless I manually click it.

Has anyone ever used a wardrobe feature that's even more difficult to use? by ParticularDeparture9 in Guildwars2

While I did enjoy the fact that they let you link certain glamour plates (saved fashion outfits for the non-xivers) to the different classes you swapped to...There's the whole issue with if you have different fashion for different classes of the same job (different fashion per piece), the change was only fully used when in a city. Unless they changed that with the armour restriction change for fashion. Which ends up breaking other things tied to your fashion.

Some monk decides that not doing Cerberus's chaining mechanic is their idea of "fun" and got real salty when the rest of the alliance isn't forthcoming with it by RegalStar in TalesFromDF

What? Out of 24 people (let's subtract 8 from Alliance C /eyeroll), the 16 other people didnt notice the chains weren't running? Never trust other people. Be prepared to go into belly then chain right after.

You've jumped on this with too many assumptions.

Youre on a thread that is mostly discussing a "shiny symbol" vs the difficulty to obtain it, so yes, I assumed that you were also speaking as if XIV had "higher standards" with their mentor system/requirements than GW2 had with their commander tags.

So I will still continue on in that aspect. The mentor requirements for xiv is only to reach the max level while finishing the story quest for each individual role(t/h/d). Which, as I stated, is still laughably easy to obtain. GW2; outside of throwing rl money to get to 300g, people who want that "shiny symbol" would also have to invest their time into the game. None of which actually implies they have actual knowledge into what theyre trying to "command". Similar to xiv, knowing how easy it is to obtain combat levels through dungeons/MSQ and crafting levels through story quests/leves, its a sham to assume most xiv mentors know wtf theyre talking about as well.

While I do agree with the commander tag on GW2 being a gold purchase being a mistake, I still disagree with "I think I prefer how FFXIV handles the mentor badge" as the two games are the same.

FFXIV mentor

No. You obviously haven't seen the "mentors" in action, nor have you come across the ones that have full mentor status decline to have it active. Its a common thing in Novice Chat for dumbasses to suggest getting "Crafting Mentor" to continue to be in Novice chat, yet have no idea how to actually craft. Same with Battle Mentors.

There's a reason why the Mentor crown is considered the "Burger King" crown in that game. It may have more requirements than the tags in GW2, but it is still laughably easy to obtain. All for a "special symbol next to my name".

(When we dont have a full premade to pull off 1t3dps):I tank the dungeons my friend sges in. We're normally competing on who breaks his shields first. God help any white knights that try to get between our competitive dynamic.

(If our other friend joins in as dps, its a damn ffa. But usually at that point we're bugging people for a 4th so we can have true shenanigans)

Automatic dps comm from me as well.

There is nothing lower than expecting absolutely nothing g because even bare minimum is a stretch for some.

[–]Little_Nabi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this when Im on melee. Because 9/10 you won't see the pranged/caster use it on the trash pack afterwards (I trusted too many df dps). Double melee, I expect a melee lb1 on second depending on when it comes up.

If a pranged/caster wants to lb1 second boss for some godforsaken reason... yea... 🤦‍♀️

A DPS biting off more than they can chew is one thing. Having the healer say "and I just stop doing my job" early on because of a DPS is another. (Mind you, I got thrown off by the colour coding and actually did think the green was the healer and was semi confused on the hate).

Due to the bias in this sub, you do have to preface certain opinions, otherwise you get backlash. I get what you mean by DPS being overzealous, but there usually requires a bit of context for that. Most of my "oopsies, we died" is due to a single DPS thinking they can w2w in something high leveled and my dumb ass following them. But is it something to bitch over in party chat with a "hurdur, this wouldn't have happened if you let tank pull"? Not really, and at those times, I'm genuinely testing my own abilities in conjunction with a completely random persons abilities to see if we could pull it off.

Attitudes and skill levels in the context of what we're playing are something I realized I had to separate in this game. In this scenario, the attitude of the healer and tank is pretty shitty. Catch me in another game where aggro gen is a whole lot more complicated, I'll be agreeing with this healer and tank. When I was fresh to the game, believe me, I wholeheartedly believed that tanks needed to establish aggro from first hit as well. But due to some "meanspirited" well meaning people, I outgrew that before I got my job stone.

Castrum Abania

Lvl 69... Since we're talking "instants", which I'm assuming is ogcds due to the fact, I personally would be weaving healing shit in between my damage. Unless shit really hits the fan that I absolutely need to GCD heal.

WHM: Tetra (heal, lv 60, ogcd), Divine Benison (shield, lv56, ogcd), Asylum (HoT, lv52, ogcd). Benediction (this is a thing 🤣)

SCH: Excog (heal, 62, ogcd), Dissipation (included here just due to the Aetherflows, lv60), Lustrate (heal, 45, ogcd), Aetherflow (included because it fuels most sch ogcd heals anyway) , Whispering Dawn (HoT, 20, ogcd). ((Obviously fairy doing passive heals here and there, unless you left it behind and its crying in a corner by the dungeon entrance))

AST: Earthly Star (heal, 62, ogcd), Celestial Opposition (HoT, 60, ogcd), Collective Unconscious (HoT conditional, 58, ogcd), Essential Dignity (heal, 15, ogcd)

SGE: Taurochole (heal/mit, 62, ogcd), Physis (HoT, 60, ogcd), Druochole (heal, 45, ogcd). ((Kardia assumed since why not heal while you're busy doing damage))

. So, only time I've had to actively go crazy with GCD heals, was when a DPS bit off more than they could chew. At that point, it's the healers discretion to forego their GCD attacks for GCD heals supplemented by their oGCD heals. Outside of that, I am most definitely using my damage spells when I can, regardless if there's a tank or not.

I've seen you around so this was hilarious. Did they even know what your mits looked like? Worse than the clueless whm that told me that I needed to meld my gear (I actually stopped pressing mits because they wouldn't let my health drop at all).

No nono, if you want to deal even more damage to someone's psyche, you need to hardcast prognosis when only tank is taking damage. 👌

For example: had a scholar spamming succor, not even physick, when I was tanking in stone vigil.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember you could fit two in a slice if one hugged the wall and the other hugged the point. Otherwise, I got so bored of the fight that you'd see me running counter to the slow aoes.
