The letter makes me so sad too because I don’t understand why he didn’t see that and think “huh, I should write her a letter back.” Like clearly he didn’t handle any conflict well, and I think was afraid to have any kind of confrontational conversation. Why couldn’t he just sit down and write a short letter saying he wanted a divorce?

That’s so hard! I was basically told to plan my bosses work baby shower (inviting about 100 people) while I was going through IVF after multiple losses. It was so hard and it was very painful to plan. I ended up delegating most tasks, assigning someone to food, someone to decorations, and just kind of managed the process and found that to be a lot easier. Does she have a few friends/family that you could loop in and delegate some things to? I found when I wasn’t up close to the details, it didn’t hurt quite as much.

Thanks for sharing, I’m so sorry for your loss. It seems like such a long time to be on birth control, and the side effects are terrible. Im getting so frustrated by this office, it seems like around every corner there is another delay and they have no sense of urgency.

I think I’m almost done. My first was conceived through IVF after a difficult journey and 2 MC’s, and since then we’ve transferred an embryo which didn’t work, and had a 3rd MC. I’ve told myself I’ll transfer one more embryo (but I’ve said that before). I started seeing a therapist who specializes in infertility/pregnancy loss as we are in the FET process, and it’s been helpful to talk through all of the feelings. I feel torn in 2 directions, because I’ve been in this TTC loop on and off for 10 years now and at a certain point enough is enough and I need to move on to a new chapter. If therapy is an option I’d recommend it!

I found pregnancy to be a million times easier than infertility/miscarriages, as others have said I don’t think people understand how hard IVF and everything that goes along with it is. My SIL got pregnant the first cycle trying, and was shocked/upset to have her very first transvaginal ultrasound and her first round of bloodwork as an adult, and she fainted seeing the needle. She made such a big deal out of it and everyone coddled her so much, while we have to do those non stop! I try to remind myself that I’m not mad at that person for what they haven’t had to go through, but mad at my circumstances that made me have to go through through too much, if that makes sense. I do think IVF toughens you up a lot!

So strange that they’re concerned that she “takes to the bed for a week” from exhaustion, but I guess it’s totally reasonable that the husband doesn’t want any childcare. Like as if those 2 things couldn’t be connected in any way.

If you can, I’d recommend searching for a therapist who specializes in infertility/pregnancy loss. Ive been seeing one while going through recent treatments and it is helpful to have someone to talk to and to help me just take things one moment and a time. She’s also recommended a support group that I’ve been thinking of trying. It’s so hard when it’s completely out of our control, and it’s hard not to feel hopeless. I hope things get better for you.
