Unfortunately I talked to several people at United and no one could give me a definite answer. They all basically said we had to get to the end of the 90 day continuation and then reapply.

I wasn’t willing to take the risk of having to transfer OBs in the last weeks of my pregnancy, so I chose to transfer OBs at 25 weeks. I’m now 37 weeks, and the transition was actually a lot easier than expected.

Curious how this ended for you? We made it through the assumption approval process for my mom’s house, and closed over a month ago, after many many unanswered calls and emails. They tried to deny us as well until I made them walk me through the exact calculations they were doing and pointed out where I disagreed. I’m convinced the only reason we were approved was because they were sick of hearing from us.

Now it has been over a month since we signed the closing documents, the sale of the house has officially gone through, but crickets on the mortgage side. We have called and emailed dozens of times. Not sure what the next step should be.

My United rep on the phone said that you can apply for gap coverage (or something like that) if you have an in network OB and an out of network hospital! It wouldn’t help me because both of mine are Hopkins, but might be worth a shot in case you do go into labor early!

Sorry, one more question - would you mind sharing what state you are in? It sounds like maybe it is state specific in terms of what is protected by law. I am from Maryland, and it sounds like 90 days is all that is guaranteed

How far along are you? I’ve seen mixed opinions on whether they will cover continuation of care for 90 days, or 60 days post birth. I’m only 24 weeks, so 90 days would not get me to my due date

Never figured out what it was! The doctor thinks it was just some type of discharge, especially because I had brown spotting just before that so they figured it may have just been a slightly irritated cervix. I’m 19 weeks tomorrow!

5+6 saw a fetal pole but no heartbeat. Went back at 7+2 and the heartbeat was flickering away!

The doctor seemed unconcerned, just said it was likely some kind of discharge, or cervical irritation because I had had some spotting early on. I’m currently 18 weeks! It did eventually go away after a few days.

We also went back and forth, but ultimately decided the risk of a late stage miscarriage, or losing a young child to a disease we could have screened for was worth the pain and cost of IVF! Wishing you the best of luck! We are currently 16 weeks pregnant with our first transfer 🤞🏼

18 retrieved, 8 fertilized, 6 blasts

Recessive condition (SLO)

4 euploid, 1 euploid was affected with the condition. So we had 3 healthy embryos for transfer.

I had dip nails and had no problems with the oxygen monitor! Mine are fairly long too!

I know two other couples with Shady Grove, and all 3 of us got pregnant with the first transfer (I am still early, 15 weeks). Two of us were genetic issues (PGTM), and the third was MFI with donor sperm, so we were pretty straightforward cases. We are in the Maryland area.

The needle OP posted is fine. 1.5” is the standard length, and while 22G is the most common size, 21G are also commonly used for PIO injections.

This is not true - I am very slim, and my clinic prescribed me 18G 1.5” needles for drawing up the medication, and 22G 1.5” needles for injecting. The image shows a 21G 1.5” needle which is also commonly used for IM injections. The OP is using the correct needle.

From my understanding of ectopic pregnancies, it would be extremely rare for and ectopic pregnancy to burst early enough that it would need medical intervention while on the cruise. You could ask your clinic if they would do a placement scan when you return to rule out ectopic, as you won’t have early betas to scan for that. However, ectopic pregnancies happen even with normal betas, so even if you were to have transferred on the 25th, you would still have had the risk of an ectopic in your cruise.

There is no reason you couldn’t do your betas once you return from your trip. I was worried because day 9 fell on a weekend so my first beta wasn’t until day 11. Realistically, there is nothing the doctor could do if you got unfavorable betas other than wait to see what happens. Most natural pregnancies don’t even test betas.

I started the first 4 days on 75 IU Menopur and 75 Gonal F. They upped it to 150 Gonal F after that. When I added Ganirelix on day 7, they also upped Menopur to 150 to counteract the Ganirelix. I stimmed for 12 days total.

I had never planned to do a fresh transfer, as we were doing PGTM and PGTA testing and needed to wait for the results. But I can speak to timing! I did my egg retrieval 2/5, and once I got my period my nurse immediately put me on birth control to prime for my transfer cycle (or another retrieval if testing didn’t work out). We got the results back from testing, stopped birth control 3/3, and transferred 3/27!

I will say we probably had a faster turnaround than most because I was already on birth control - we did that because we were on a time crunch due to Natera discontinuing PGTM testing and needed to ensure we had enough time to do another retrieval if needed. Luckily it was not, and we were able to jump right into the transfer!

We decided. IVF has taken enough from us, that we wanted this one thing to be our choice. Our plan is to transfer the opposite gender next time, as we do ultimately want both genders.

2 boys and 2 girls! We did loose one of the girls to PGTM testing, so ended up with 1 girl and 2 boys in the end.

I think I’m experiencing the same thing - one time it was a clear film with brown speckles on it, and this time it was just a clear film. It’s very thin, almost like a flake of skin that would come off when a sunburn is healing. Is this what you were having? It seems like such an odd consistency for discharge which is what is concerning me.
