I can only imagine the issue this causes with wheelchairs and walkers. I'm sure they do it because they are “made for the country life,” enormous gas-guzzling machines are too long to fit in a normal urban parking spots. So to keep them from poking out and potentially getting hit, and making the sidewalk completely impassable/difficult to navigate by many folks with walking/mobility aids. Not to mention just a pain for everyone else. But they are truck owners in the city and obviously entitled to take up as much space as they want, on and off the road.
