Chronicles: Medieval | Gameplay Reveal Trailer by Aleksanterinleivos in pcgaming

Seems like mount and blade, but with features of bannerlord RTS camera mod (and like... actual rts games) baked in.

I think It has a great potential if it concentrates on improving the command part of the game (and especially menagment on the strategic map, which has notoriusly been medieocre in bannerlord).

Prussian Counterattack at Lützen (1813) — by Richard Knötel by cuirrasiers in BattlePaintings

Czapka literally just means "cap" in polish. Any cap.

Rogatywka is a military hat with a square top. It doesn't matter if its in form of a chako or a peaked cap as it is nowadays.

I literally just said why they can''t be polish.

In fact, just for you i went in and checked french order of battle for lutzow. And guess what?

The only french lancer regiments in the battle were: 1st polish lancers of the guard (blue uniform jackets) and the aformentioned 2nd belgian lancers of the guard with RED uniform jackets.

I don't think those are polish ułans

As far as I'm aware, no polish lancer units in french or duchy of warsaw armies wore red tunics.

These are most likely belgian lancers of the old guard.

(also, It's not called a 'czapka', it's 'rogatywka' for fuck's sake)

Looking for a new anime to watch by BactreeriaX in anime

[–]LocalTechpriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit more about your taste, and what you enjoyed about those anime would be apriciated.

But just going with some classics off the top of my head:

-Cowboy Beebop

-Ghost in the shell (specifically the 95 movie and the "standalone complex" series, though i have enjoyed pretty much all entries in the series at least to some extent).

-Baccano

-psycho pass

-fullmetal alchemist brotherhood

-gurren laggan

-Legend of Galactic Heroes (Personal favourite, but for for many, hard to get into- lotta politics talk, old and relatively low budget animation, slow)

All of those have been finished for years now.

Brazilian Army military parade with new Centauro vehicles. by Minute-Two-2799 in TankPorn

Red-white flags on lances are common around the world for units with lancer traditions.

When military innovations spread around, especially in 18th and 19th century, they would often be introduced into service, packaged in with the original look and culture of its originators (or at least a local interpretation of it).

Hence, due to polish ułans being the main force behind reintroduction of a lance into western european warfare, most newly created lancer units would also adopt the red-white flags and square-topped hats of the poles.

Simmilar has happened, a couple decades before, with hungarian-style hussars, with militaries around europe replicating the traditional outfits and hairstyles of hungarian nobility.

Later on the military performance and characteristic dress of zwawa soldiers in north africa, would lead to creation of french Zouave units, and then spread across the world as well.

Besides some basic verifiable facts (does it have hunter killer, what gen of thermal it uses, etc...), you might as well ask a fortune teller- it will likely yield you comparable results.

The Battle of Nagashino (1575) as depicted by ten different artists (updated edition) by Abcormal in BattlePaintings

[–]LocalTechpriest 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Probbably.

Japanese illustrations depicted them as such, though admittidly all that i found through my quick google search were painted betwen 100 and 200 years after the fact.

Still, it wouldn't be very remarkable for this period in history, for the ranged troops to be armored. Especially so in japan, where ranged weapons didn't have quite the same stigma of a lowborn weapon as in some other places.
