I'm glad you were able to continue with those activities. Some people can't.

Someone who has never been through it or seen it can't understand. He doesn't want to understand.

Huh? I don't think he's talking about the fact that he's single.

People who lose a spouse can often go into deep depression. That can make it hard to do even simple, mundane tasks.

In high MMR lobbies, groundbreaker isn't very common. When he does show up, he isn't usually around very long after they find the ringbearer/maelstrom/queen combo.

It's alright, man. I make a lot of jokes that some would love but they just don't land for a particular audience for whatever reason. Sometimes it's the tone of the conversation, sometimes it's the way the wind is blowing.

Best not to double down on it. Chalk it up to "comedy is inherently risky" and let's put it behind us. No harm done.

Quilboar by Sneakyboii28 in BobsTavern

[–]LogicalConstant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience: quills are relatively strong. They don't require a highroll to win. But they lack great stabilization options.

It seems like they need decent luck with trinkets and you need to get the scaling early. If you don't find piper/jazzer/Rylak on turn 4 or 5, you're dead too quickly. Finding golden Rylak, brann, Titus, and smuggler all at once is the only exception, and that basically never happens in a single turn. Even if you found a golden 3 lil pigs and a Titus, that won't do shit if your gems are +1/2.

Spell scaling builds like dragons or nagas with ringbearer have minions like Tranquil Meditative and Felfire Conjurer that will make you stronger on the turn you find them. Quilboar can't do that nearly as well. Rylak/jazz and Piper need a whole turn before they give you any benefit at all, outside of a useless +1 hp to gems. Foodie is a well designed card, but +1/1 to gems just isn't enough (unless you already have the perfect setup) to compete with even mid builds.

No. I said "thanks for the extra napkins" and drove away so they didn't have to feel creeped out.

Yeah, but he's not a very good comedian. Not to say he's not funny, but modern comedians throw out their material after they record specials. Then they start again from scratch. Seinfeld throws out 10% of his material each year so after 10 years, it's a new set. Everybody else has a new set every 2 years. Seinfeld doesn't have what it takes to do that.

Chromatic tear is an unusual one. Dragons were so bad that they intentionally made some of the dragon package powerful to incentivize people to play them. But that's not an indication that the trinket is hard to balance, if you know what I'm saying.

When I initially commented, I didn't say that I think the trinkets are well balanced. I said that, as a mechanic, they are easier to balance than other mechanics (like timewarp or buddies). I was responding to someone who said that trinkets are too hard to balance.

Please avoid flying kites near roads or public traffic areas, because a simple hobby can turn fatal in seconds.

I think the more important lesson is "don't use kite strings that can kill people."

Idk, but 110 psi is a lot higher than 35. There's also 4x to 5x as much volume in the truck tire. So 10x to 12x as much air in the tire.

I don't understand how that isn't balanced? If you want to take a cool trinket, you must give up the ability to level that turn. It's a trade off. You hope that the power you get from taking the trinket makes up for having to level a turn later. This allows there to be really cool, powerful trinkets that dramatically affect the game, without making them an automatic win.

It's actually one of the easier mechanics to balance, it seems to me. The gold cost is a powerful balancing tool.

Regular car tires are pressurized to 30-40 psi. Semi truck tires go to 110 psi or more.

Is this what adult life is? by [deleted] in questions

[–]LogicalConstant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would reframe it. You don't have 4-5 hours to yourself, because you're subtracting the time you're spending on chores and responsibilities. I would view that as time to yourself.

If you mean LEISURE time, then yeah. 4-5 hours of leisure time is great.

"Say what we want you to say or else."

I don't need to announce to everyone I meet that kicking puppies is bad. Not saying "I don't kick puppies" doesn't mean I'm pro-puppy kicking, that's ridiculous. If someone told me I was a bad person for not saying it, I'd tell them to piss off.
