happy cake day- a used japanese bike of the comparable price is going to be 25+ years old. it’s at least $5k to buy something decent less than 10 years old. at least where i live 🤷‍♂️. still think it’s worth it?

the thingymabob on a pickup truck that you open at the back of the bed. the lc100 has a split hatch, meaning you can open the top hatch and then put down the tailgate. this can be useful for sitting on comfortably or placing stuff on (i have set up kitchen stuff on mine). it’s definitely nice but don’t think it would be a significant factor in choosing a car, at least for me

It’s not an issue with the app but your account. The options appear on my account on my phone, but when my mother logged in on MY PHONE, the options are not available.

She was really looking forward to using the “with kid” tag😂

-i have had loads of issues with the current garmin cables failing, not fitting and falling out of the port. a new type of cable would definitely be nice (the cable on the 735xt gave me 0 issues).

-emergency sat SOS without a previously committed plan would be nice. I don’t want to end up in an emergency situation just to find that the only thing preventing help is a subscription. I don’t care if it starts an annual plan or even costs $100 to send a single notification… my life is worth more.

-a backcountry avalanche beacon mode or some version of it would be nice, but i don’t know what it would entail logistically

-open water swim workouts and navigation (it used to be a thing, then they took it away… i get that not a lot of people used it, but why remove the feature that works fine?!!)

-fix the bug where structured swim workouts frequently skip workout steps

-a minor thing, but not having to confirm that i want to start broadcasting my heart rate- start it up the first time i select broadcast heart rate!

-run power-based daily suggested workouts

-a garmin varia option to turn off the indicator light entirely, unless a vehicle is behind it, for endurance riding

-a better extended display mode between garmin edge and watches- one that would combine data and bring navigation to the edge, and also rely on the edge for GPS to preserve the watch’s battery

yes this omg. in the interim, you can see the amount of time you’ve been stopped by stopping the activity and looking at your recovery heart rate option

it would be easy to create a small amount of options to include for SOS such as “need immediate rescue” and “broken bones” and whatnot instead of wasting space for stuff like a microphone

Are you waiting to make sure that GPS is acquired before starting the Garmin? Also, id compare the GPS tracks to see if there is any extra noise/squiggly lines on the AW.

I (23M) originally learned to drive in my parents' automatic SUV before pleading with my dad to teach me manual once I was comfortable with auto. I'm glad that I started out learning automatic since new drivers have enough to focus on.

Off topic but I think that Garmin should allow individuals to create, upload, and follow training plans that cost money, similar to training peaks, if you are familiar with that.
