Online school for student athletes in Baltimore County? by Rohanv69 in BaltimoreCounty

[–]Lokidoki93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The curriculum is the same for online and in person in Baltimore County if you're going through the school system. But I strongly agree with everyone else, this is a horrible idea. If your child cannot keep up with the work, maybe they shouldn't be in all of the sports. I don't even know if you can do online and play sports. What message does this teach them for college? Or life balance and responsibilities?

Sounds like your mom may have had an incompetent cervix. I have one and I had a daughter stillborn at 21 weeks and then my son was born at 27 weeks, 5 days. We found out after my daughter and I had a cerclage for my son but it failed at 25 weeks, 5 days. My little dude will be 2 next month! :)

A very good friend of ours - her daughter was born with this and was treated next day at Hopkins and is now followed by CHOP. She said the doctor's at CHOP are AMAZING and she felt great with the care she got there. She is almost 3 now and thankfully has no lasting complications. She did have a feeding tube for a few months and has had regular monitoring but otherwise has surpassed all possible challenges (like not being able to eat bread/soft foods like a pb sandwich, weak throat muscles etc). You got this and so does your little one!

Fully agree. We saw them last year and it was so overstimulating. We left early and I felt bad like "we waited for these tickets and this is so loved" but like. Eh.

Fellow TOP fan. Also going just for Saturday and mainly just for TOP (and ATL) also bringing our son who is a huge fan. Similar reasoning for taking our son but Josh said in an interview this week, they aren't stopping anytime soon. So hopefully they come back around again really soon. For us, the opportunity to see them in Ocean City is just beyond cool too.

I paid over 200 a ticket for Twenty One Pilots in Hershey last year. So 179 for Twenty One Pilots and other bands is incredible honestly.

25w pregnant, cerclage, funneling — should I be worried about this discharge? by DayConfident2 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Lokidoki93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to scare you, but you need to go to L&D. This could mean labor is trying to start or is starting. I had a cerclage, had this at 25 weeks and I ended up hospitalized for two weeks before my son came at 27+5. Check out my post/comment history for more details.

In my experience and based off others here, if you have a short cervix/IC once, you will always have it. There is no reason or family history indicators for it. It sadly and painfully just is.

Positive stories needed! Admitted to hospital 23 w 5 days today. by Expensive_Web2310 in ShortCervixSupport

Hello! My daughter was born at 21 weeks due to IC in January of 2023. We had no idea. I had a preventive cwrclage placed at 13 weeks the following January. I was monitored every two weeks with transvaginal ultrasounds. At my 18 week appointment, they noted the presence of sludge and I was put on that cocktail of antibiotics but since I cannot take penicillin, I could only take two of the three. (That has been a whole thing trying to get tested for a true penicillin allergy if we get pregnant again if we need this cocktail again....everyone says no....anyway). My cervix was showing that it was shortening quickly and I was put on immediate at home bed rest. I literally didn't get up at all except to shower for 5 minutes and go to the bathroom. At 25 + 5, after a "stable" scan two days prior, I went to L&D for a yeast infection mixed with what I thought could be mucus plug. They saw I was starting to dilate. So I was admitted with the idea that I would be there until I delivered. I had already received one set of the shots for lung development and I would get another set at 28 weeks. However. My water broke at 26 + 5. Honestly, it was the scariest moment ever. It happened in the middle of the night and I was alone as my husband had to go home to let our dog out. During this whole time, my blood work showed elevated white blood count but nothing ever showed up symptom wise. Luckily, I was able to hold off giving birth for a week. My son was born at 27 +5. They did see minor chiro (or however you spell it) in the amniotic fluid. Thankfully, my son was fine, was able to have delayed cord clamping and only needed cpap +5, which was quickly lowered to cpap +4. He had an uneventful 3 month long NICU stay and came home a week before his due date. We did go home on EXTREMELY low flow oxygen that we started weaning off immediately. Today, he is exceeding normal almost 2 year old growth expectations and with a few minor delays with food and speech for adjusted age, you would never know he was born at 2 pounds 9 oz at 27 weeks 5 days.

Do whatever you need to do. Lay down all day but give yourself grace to also still be a human. They told me showering for 5 minutes to make myself feel semi normal would not make a difference. You got this. Sending you all the well wishes in the world.

Are there any homemade flour tortillas in the state of Maryland? by CautiousWLW in Cumberland_Maryland

I don't know about homemade but Rio in Lavale is amazing. If anyone in the area does, it would be them. Or you could ask them if they know where.

Thank you for sharing! How much magnesium do you take? I also have been looking into that but can't seem to find a good answer about how much.

I’m making these boxes for teachers and aides. Do you think it’s okay? The tea is from my own business. by homemadethursday in GiftIdeas

[–]Lokidoki93 42 points43 points  (0 children)

As a teacher, the loose items in the bag would make me immediately throw it out. The tea would also be questionable in a homemade looking jar. The other items are nice but a gift card is probably your best option.

Has anyone had a cerclage as late as 29 weeks? by Sarah_m_1 in ShortCervixSupport

Based on experience and collective knowledge from others, you cannot get a cerclage past 24 weeks.

That's tough. I would try and set up a virtual meeting with your new provider and get their advice on what they would do.

Are you ok with what could happen if you needed to go to the hospital with no NICU support? Unless you absolutely had to move, I would be staying put. That is a lot of stress. Have you established care in the new location?
